Bike fit question; saddle position on the rails

NB: I cannot afford a professional bike fit right now, so I’m making do and tinkering myself. I’m saving for one

I’ve found quite a comfortable position that lets me keep an aero (for me) position on my hoods without aches of my arms and not too many other downsides.

Question is, I’m at the limit of how far back my saddle is/can go. Is it an issue?

It’s a TCR 2022 model and I can’t find a model variant seat post with a set back. I get people are outside of bell curves and whilst the ‘look’ might be unorthodox, it works for now.

I guess my options are

  • leave as is, it’s comfy
  • Set back Seatpost to allow me to centre the saddle a bit more on the rails.
  • A longer stem(?)
  • Other options welcome.

I think I have quite long arms and femurs but I am quite short at 5ft6. My TCR is a size small from 2022.

To find this comfier position I’ve moved my saddle down and back, and moved my cleats back over a period of indoor trainer sessions, going by feel. Reason I did this all was because my arms would ache in an aero position and I also got some proximal hamstring ache. I’ve considered a wider or different saddle but I don’t know if I really think that was the problem.

Apparently these seat posts can have a 5mm or -15mm setback. Think mines already on the -15mm

Thanks!

Usually there’s a clamp range printed on the rails. If you stay within that, you’re good. FWIW, that post looks like it has very little setback, maybe 5mm, but not 15. IDK about that bike and post specifically, but much more setback is not uncommon.

Yes the tcr does have a flip around seat clamp offering -15 and 5mm of fore/aft adjustment. Normally the bike would come standard in the -15mm option. I had to manually flip mine around to get it to 5mm. It’s not the easiest of tasks. But if you take your saddle completely off, then you’ll see the markings on the clamp.

Hope this helps

If its comfy there I would leave it until you get a proper fit done. Doesnt really matter how it looks.

Clamp wise, if you have CroMo or Ti rails I wouldnt worry so much about the printed clamp range either, just dont clamp the actual bends but go upto them if need be. (If its carbon rails I wouldnt go anywhere near the corners)

Thanks all. Makes sense.
