I used Graeme Street’s Cyclo Iron workouts. My favourites are
Number 8
Number 11
Number 40
The others I will have to describe
Pass the kettlebell between your legs, then swing it up and round to rotate to the other side. Then go round to the other side. I think they’re figure 8 to elbow cross
Hold the kettlebell by the horns. Kneel down and get up with the right leg first for a few reps, then do the same with the left leg
Lay on your back holding the kettlebell by the horns and do hover bicycle kicks
Lay on your back holding the kettlebell by the horns and do catapult and reach
He’s also written several books, and the Enter the Kettlebell book is a really good instructional manual. You might be able to find a free PDF of it online or it’s available on Amazon.
The Turkish get up looks complex, but once you break it down into the various movements, it isn’t too technical to do, although does take a bit of time and practice to become proficient at it (and if you don’t get the technique right, you’ll struggle with heavier weights later, so it’s worth the investment)
Great recommendations on kettlebell exercises above.
If you are interested in building core strength, one of the best exercises is dumbbell rows in the push-up position. This is an exercise you can do a few sets of each day, and not have it add much TSS to your week - so you can continue with your regular bike training.
Its possible to do with a kettlebell, but the extra height of a KB vs a dumbbell is not ideal.
As you get stronger, lift the opposite leg vs your “rowing” arm off the ground and do a set of, say, 10 rows while using one leg and one arm to support yourself.
