Back to back vo2 max wo

I just completed a Vo2 max workout this am. When i opened my plan a bit later my calender changed. I now have another Vo2 max workout tomorrow. Is this ok? My FTP is 4.18. Im currently in build phase of a masters high volumn plan. My RPE for today’s workout was hard. Thanks for any insight

It’s not ideal, can you swap it for later in the week?

I’ve done back to back hard days when I’ve had to and you will most likely get through it, but as far as i know, it’s unusual for TR to schedule them this way

B2B vo2 days are a thing. Not sure they are common in TR though?

I may switch days. Unfortunately i need to get the important worrk.outs in by Thurs pm. Leaving for vacay and wont have ideal training set up. Luckily next week is a rest week

We generally recommend moving those days around so you don’t have back-to-back hard workouts like that. Switching days sounds like a good plan to us here. :+1:

Shouldn’t the ai automatically adjust that and not recommend back to back days?

I thought it was strange that it just added it in. Ive had adaptations of existing workouts, but never a workoit added. It was also just chamged. No pront to accept adaptations

I just brought this up to our engineers so we can investigate what might be going on. :magnifying_glass_tilted_left:

Was the workout you did this morning initially on your TR Calendar, or did you find it through Zwift? Additionally, did you edit your plan at all today? I see the “Plan Start” annotation, which usually tells us that a plan was just created/edited.

Just trying to get more information to help us solve this.

It was a TR workout that i moved from tues to monday. I did that change sat or Sunday. I did make changes today to races. I changed priority on a couple and estimated time as well as eliminating 1 race from schedule. Maybe that forced the change.

It sounds like that’s what did it. Making those changes essentially “rebuilds” your plan, so it seems like the workout you did this morning was part of the “old” plan, then once the changes went through, the plan was rebuilt according to the parameters you have set out for it (with hard workouts on Tuesdays). That got Tuesday’s hard session to repopulate, leading to this situation.

So it sounds like everything was working “as intended,” but this was a bit of an edge case that resulted in some clunkiness. We’ll take this case for feedback for future improvements – for now, the easiest fix will be to move that workout to a different day (perhaps Wednesday?) if you don’t want to do them back to back.
