App running slow [Android]

Same here, very slow and server errors (“server unavailable”).
Deleted to clear cache etc , But still very slow.

Very annoying when doing early morning workouts and standing there for 5 to 10 additional minutes

Ipad user

Latest version is still almost unusable even after uninstalling and reinstalling (samsung galaxy z3 latest firmware)

Having major problems with the app myself, very frustrating.

Extremely slow to respond in most cases when you press anything on it and often have to close and reopen and try again as nothings happening. Never seen it as bad. Tried to load a workout yesterday and didn’t think it would work I was waiting so long.

Also been having slow performance on my Galaxy S9. I know it’s old, but all my other apps are lightening fast compared to TR.

I need to time it, but even opening the app is painfully slow. My screen goes to sleep mode and when I reopen it, TR is still not loaded many times.

Function within is also delayed in most cases. Pretty frustrating and makes use a challenge.

ETA info from another message:

For quick reference, I just did a full restart on my phone and then launched TR once it was rebooted.

  • 38 seconds to open the “release notes” from the latest update.
  • 2-3 full seconds after pressing the button to clear the message.
  • Roughly 4-5 seconds to swap between Career and Calendar pages.

  • I closed the TR app and reopened it, which took over 1 minute at least partly due to a momentary delay from a “Server Unavailable” issue, which also seems common lately. I repeated this test and got the same issue.
  • All tests above were done with 4g LTE connection and not wifi since I was not at home. But from the basic feel, these times are close to or the same that I get even on my home wifi.

Latest version is not usable for me on my iPad. It gets as far as spinning red circle and crashes.

Is there a way to wind back to an older version so I can still train?

I’ve also had problems loading workouts, very annoying for early morning workouts. What are other softwares (iPad) that I can use in a pinch? I got my Wahoo loaded so I guess I could use that

So iPad app had been working amazingly well, then update pushed through, TR support advised no longer supporting my iPad version. Why push the update through. Now can no longer use TR.

So disappointing.

Thanks for all of the info, everyone. I’m going to bring this up to the team today and see if I can get an update.

Hey everyone, we’re working hard on resolving this, but it’s worth noting that there are separate issues exclusive to both iOS and Android.

Android users, we are working on a fix that should be rolled out to Beta later today for you to try.

For those on iOS, we will reach out directly to help figure out your issue. If any of you don’t hear from us, feel free to reach out to support @trainerroad.com

App on iPhone still performing really poorly to the point I wouldn’t even bother at this stage if it was an app I didn’t need to use.

I was trying to line up a couple of mid week workouts and it took an age. I had to log out and back in multiple times, everything is just so laggy.

What’s going on guys this is really poor performance for a paid service.

Adding myself to the list of people who have a slow app. I’m running TR on an old iPad 2. Calibration never loads. Everything else is just super slow, to the point of questioning whether it’s working.

@Dougal.Doughnut are you on the Beta app that I linked?

@Dougal.Doughnut, I hear you. We’re working on a fix right now. The Beta is our way of getting a fix into your hands as soon as possible and right now that is our temporary solution. We’re hoping to have a permanent fix out soon.

Why not roll back to the older version, until the team gets it sorted. I have an unusable iPad now.

Both phone and computer apps have been close to unusable for nearly a month now due to slowness/lagginess.

Very frustrating.

Jonathan always talks about removing barriers to training so it’s easier to start, and it takes 15mins to find and select a workout…lol

Hey @timon,

We hear you on removing barriers to training so it’s easier to start!!

As I mentioned in the previous post, we hope to have the Android issues resolved shortly. The troubles you’re running into on Windows sounds like a separate issue from what’s being discussed in this thread – I’ll reach out via DM so we can get to the bottom of those problems.

3min 15sec, tried twice.

Less than 8 seconds. Motorola RAZR 2020. Thank you for a great product! And by far the best support staff of any app I’ve ever used!

FYI, I installed an used the beta app in the email a few days ago and it was MUCH quicker than the current standard app.

It’s still from trainerroad and signed by them
