I only use Strava to connect other Platforms that couldn’t connect direct.
1-2 years ago i‘m very active at Strava but today are nearly all benefits behind the paywall. Sorry for me Strava isn’t worth the premium features, for me its a social platform but not a training platform. You can’t even get a year in review without paying. Only for evaluation there are a lot better apps for free. My favorite: intervalls.icu
So i decided for me to invest my money in apps where i get a benefit to my training like Trainerroad, Training Peaks, Zwift etc.
I don‘t need to present myself in the social media how diligently I train.
Probably not just that feature, but many features like that, maybe. Social media is addictive and if your friends are all sharing their’s, it may be hard to resist for some.
Honestly, I only keep it for segments and yearly totals. I wish TrainerRoad updated its UI; I can’t even find how many days I’ve trained this year anywhere. I mostly use it to see what my friends are up to especially the ones who don’t live nearby.
Yeah, it really feels like a waste of money, I should probably cancel mine. I would like it to have more performance info, more like Training Peaks. If one just bought up the other and merged the two that would be great. I feel Training Peaks needs a refresh anyways.
I figured this was their best marketing tool to try to get others to join, since it would be shared on other social platforms. Locking it behind a paywall seems counterproductive.
There’s always Veloviewer if anybody wants a free summary.
The one reason I keep Strava is for the routing, the heat map is great when wanting to run, hike or cycle in a new area. and the way it auto routes to cycle friendly routes also works well for me.
Been off the Strava juice for a while. The only thing I miss is the auto upload from my workouts to My Fitness Pal. TR, Garmin, and Zwift do not seem to have a partnership. Is there a food tracking app that does? Or am I just not seeing something?
Ok thanks. I think I found a problem. Doing TR workouts in Zwift is not pushing them to Garmin.
I reset the connections and will see later today if it all connects.
I think I’ve said it somewhere before but the only reason I pay for Strava is access to the leaderboards, but not for comparing times. I use it for checking on the status of mountain bike trails when it’s been wet or snowy. I look at segment leaderboards for today or the last week and see if anyone has ridden the trails. If one person has ridden a segment in 15 minutes that normally takes 3 minutes, it’s likely still covered in snow or too muddy. If 10 people have ridden it recently in 3-ish minutes, it’s clear.
