6th Feb too. I’ve got a 4.5 (Indianhouse -1) the day before, and then 6 days later 3.6 (Wheel -2) - though obviously that may change during those 6 days.
I hope things have normalized by now.
Mine was actually rather understanding most of the time as I converted her to TR for 2026, but I did have to argue with her a lot about where the platform’s headed. She’s firmly in the “no visible RPE” camp, for example, among other things.
First threshold after prediction: Kaweah Queen (Threshold 3.4) on 19.02
Reason I asked is because during the beta I mentioned during a friendly argument with Nate that I thought level 3 workouts were too low and I’d rather be normalised at at least level 4.
Could be a coincidence but I haven’t been prescribed a level 3 threshold workout since and my first workout after the 6th is a level 4.0 - which kind of indicates I’m being normalised to 4 not 3 ![]()
I’m wondering if my account has had a little experimental tweak?
Could be barking up the wrong tree - but I don’t seem to be as affected by this issue as some of you others - I’m not spectacularly “in the wrong zones” for instance
Might also just be because my sweetspot level wasn’t particularly high - “only” level 7 or 8 I think?
A few people reported having Cloudripper-2 on 07.02 when FTP prediction came out. It’s international Cloudripper-2 day for a reason. It’s Threshold 4.0
SS 4.4 then Threshold 2.8
Oh yeah I forgot about that! ![]()
Ignore me ![]()
Last Threshold workout before prediction: 5.1
Prediction +19w (up 7.6%)
Next Threshold workout: 2.8
Last Threshold workout before prediction: 4.2
Prediction +11w (up 4.3%)
Next Threshold workout: 3.6 (Wheel -2) 3 days after prediction and first hard workout.
pretty damning…
My first workout post prediction is Saturday Feb 7th and is Cloudripper -2. I assume that is everyone’s workout if their first is a 90 minute Threshold, as they said the model is deterministic.
Interesting observation just now. I checked my first workout after the predicted AiFTP bump. It’s a VO2 workout that’s supposed to be 4*5 at 112%, but when I click it now it shows me the wattage I’m supposed to be holding when I do the workout in three weeks, but it is shown with my current FTP, so the power targets are adjusted to make it match. Meaning that if I hover over the intervals now it’s shown as 5 minutes at 120%. For refference, today I did 2 minute intervals at 112% and rated it hard.
There was a bug in the beta where the AI didn’t take into account the FTP change so the workouts were not being adjusted correctly - I thought it was fixed though ![]()
Manually changing the FTP up and down 1w fixed it.
EDIT: actually in your case the “not recommended” might be it correctly taking into account your current fatigue…
For those who may have missed it, there was a ~2 minute segment on the Q & A podcast where Nate commented on the use-case some people had of using the old AIFTP number for pacing & how you might accomplish that in the new system by down-adjusting your FTP until an (AI) Threshold workout hits eg. Level 5 Threshold (if that combo of old AIFTP at a Level 5 Threshold was informative for you); Nate then went on to briefly mention a future feature of Absolute Levels (this came up briefly in the Beta program thread too in a post by Nate)…

I think there is a current bug with similar workouts to a scheduled one showing as not recommended.
Mine will be the old cloudripper level 4.4 (the 2 hour version).
Based on the numbers, with my AIFTP going up another 8w, I don’t think I’ll be able to pull it off. The unders will def be above what I could hold for 25m or so. The overs are well into my vo2.
This thread is becoming a therapy session lol.
What are your training approaches in SS/Threshold?
Sweetspot
- Conservative
- Moderate
- Balanced
- Demanding
- Aggressive

I am similar but the bump in FTP means my sweet spot is now a threshold workout.
My SS was a 4.5 and the threshold workout was Kaweah Queen 3.4.
If I look at Kaweah Queen now it indicates there is a higher chance of failure for me to do the workout and it is not recommended. Bumping my FTP by 6% to me doesnt give me better workouts. Things were going fine before. As I near being 66 and being not well for the last two years the current system doesnt feel like a fit. The lower FTP was working better even if the workouts were easier I was getting stronger.
I’d say that so far it doesn’t look like our struggles are based on training approach.
Thanks…I haven’t heard all of the second podcast yet…. but that’s consistent with a convo I had during the beta.
My first thresh session after a predicted ftp increase is indeed Cloudripper -2 and it has a predicted difficulty of Hard.
edit: I should add I got a pretty big FTP increase during beta.
