I have watched quite a few brake bleed videos, but I have never seen some of the hacks in the Park Tool one. After I replaced my brake pads (I had to put my bike upside-down, unfortunately), air got into my system, rendering the rear brake inoperable. Park Tool’s recommended procedure adds a few extra steps, but boy, does it make a difference. I did not even get their fancy brake bleed kit … but I see what the parts are for now.
I have used their videos quite a few times in the past, and they are a really great resource. Do you know of any company or YouTube channel that does comparable work?
Sorry, that came across wrong: I’m not looking for anything specific, I’m just marveling how good they are. It isn’t the first time I have bled brakes (although it has been a while), but the quality was a few notches higher. Just a thank you.
I was just wondering out of curiosity whether there was something comparable by someone else. For specific things, there are surely comparable or better videos out there (especially if they concern one specific product rather than a whole family of products across generations.)
I always start with the Park Tools videos when I’m doing something new or something I haven’t done in a while. They’re clear and concise and show how the correct tool is supposed to work, so if I need to get creative I’m at least starting from the right place.
They’ve covered pretty much everything I’ve needed in the past.
There are always going to be random things that are more niche and manufacturer/model specific such as suspension parts, but generally speaking, Park does a great job.
