Advice from Oil Painters (weird question)

Hi,

Sorry for the rather odd question but I’ve started oil painting in my house but I’d really like a more permanent set up so I’m considering painting in my brick shed where my turbo is. It’s quite a small room at about 1.8 by 2.5 metres. I’d have the door open while I painted. Anyway, I know you can get non toxic, low odour paint thinners/brush cleaners but do you think that it’ll be safe to exercise in the same room as them? I can fit some kind of air extractor in the door.

Thanks
James

I think it depends on your definition of safe. You will be breathing VOC’s. It’s not a normal compound the body as evolved to consume.
If you do try it monitor your bodies reaction.
