So I just added some days of illness and TR asked if I wanted to adapt my training plan, which sounded perfect. It seemed to move the start of the plan into the future, which is fine, but it also seems to have moved the end into my race days, which doesn’t make any sense. Now I have no tapering and even have a workout scheduled on a B race day. Did I do something wrong or does adaptive training not work around races?
@andreas1 99% sure this shouldn’t have happened; would recommend you contact support.
You’re right; it should have auto-built around your race days.
[You had already added the race(s) previously, before the change, not after, right?]
Yes, the race days were already there before I added the training plan. I guess I can modify the plan myself or recreate it since I only just started anyway.
Another question: It does not seem to take into account my travel/vacation days. Is the build planner and/or adaptive training not handling that?
@andreas1 a screenshot might help, if you didn’t mind sharing.
If you’ve set travel in the future, I think TR basically assumes you still want to keep your training plan that you’ve laid out so far on track, rather than re-arrange the whole thing.
AT will make adjustments and changes as time goes on, as you get closer to the trip or rather, when you get back from it. Because you will have “skipped” / missed / not trained on those days, when you fire up TR, it will adapt your next WOs to the training you’ve actually completed / not completed.
This gives you flexibility to shorten or lengthen your trips last minute, etc.
…again… *I THINK !!!
It’s designed so you don’t have to mess around w stuff, and Adaptive Training will still keep you on track for your events, next phase of your training plan, etc!
But I’d contact support about the fact it didn’t build out the rescheduling around your planned race, especially w a taper, etc.
Was it an A race, B, or C ?
Hey there!
Adaptive Training will only change up your plan for your current training phase – so for you, it looks like that would be Base 1 right now.
As you move into Base 2+3, Build, and Specialty, those phases will then adapt as well.
Let us know if that doesn’t happen as you move through phases and get closer to the annotations and events you have on your Calendar – as @Chris1982 said, reach out to our support team.
Thanks for the replies! I’ll keep going with the plan and see how AT adapts when I near my race days I just found it a bit odd that AT moved a workout to one of the B race days.
Perhaps my schedule is also a bit weird with B race followed by A race followed by a B race. It’s actually not really races but a mountainbiking trip I want to be really fit for.
