You say Beta (like bait) I say Beta (like beet): The Beta Band - Hot Shots II [Full Album] - YouTube
as far as i understood and happy to be wrong, but Train Now is purely to help folks select individual workouts more easily based on time available and which of the three areas (endurance, climbing, attacking) you would like to pursue… so not designed to connect to your current plan unless your looking to switch out one particular workout it has scheduled for that day ?
That’s what I’ve heard ![]()
Forgive me if this has been addressed, but will AT require a new App update? I ask because I use an older ipad which only goes to 12.5.1. I updated the App on my iphone 11 to get access to train now, which I can add to my calendar and then still use the old ipad for training (bigger screen). Please tell me this will still work!!

Yes, new apps across the board AFAIK.
You should be able to keep using your old iPad to play the workout. But you would need to be on the latest version to utilize AT to select and put workouts on your calendar.
AT is “only” about workout selection. It isn’t Xert like where workouts dynamically change.
I guess you would also need the new app to give feedback on workout difficulty, that then feeds into the AI.
After you complete a workout you have a window of time to provide feedback. So once the ride was completed on the iPad, you would need to use a computer or iOS compatible version on the iPhone to provide feedback. Clunky, but possible
It’s possible to add or edit the survey feedback up to 7 days after the workout (from Amber), so there is no rush to get to it. But keep in mind that the results may well impact the AT adjustments, so doing it prior to your next workout is advised.
Do you think it might make sense to create another, (third) thread specifically for those people who have actually received beta invites, to share their impressions and experiences? Otherwise those actual first-hand experiences may get flooded in the other, massive thread or get lost in this thread?
Or are three threads overkill?
Yes:
- Only people actually using AT can post - how it really works. Everyone else is read only
- Anyone can post - wild speculation on how it works / why it won’t work / why X Is better than Y / etc.
- Thoughtful discussion on AT / use of AIML generally. Oh wait, descends into 2

I asked the TR team about this days ago. TR wants experience info in the main announcement thread for now. That’s why I have shared my stuff there (as well as a few others).
-
They will make a new, dedicated “Experience” thread when they get what they see as a large enough group added to the testing.
The armchair “well actually” hot takes on ML get tedious after a while…
Not to mention the “Hey only a tiny % of users have AT as it exists now, but, wouldn’t it be cool if it also had all these other hypothetical features???”
Also @mcneese.chad in case it isn’t explicitly clear, @AlphaDogCycling hits the nail on the head with the below
At this point in time, a thread with the above properties would be the absolute optimal scenario to create real value for people who haven’t yet received beta invites. I don’t know if the TR forum allows moderation at that level of granularity but gosh dang it would be nice.
I usually don’t sign up or participate in beta software due to my many years of software testing as a career, but this one has me intrigued and interested.
So, TR, if you need a grandpa masters type of beta tester, I’m available. ![]()

I get the request, but I am unaware of an easy way to “restrict” access to a thread. Maybe it’s possible, but I will have to search to see what Discourse even offers. In any event, it will likely have to be admin’ed via TR reps, since I won’t have access to a list of TR users (let alone any crossover from their TR account and forum account, since they are not necessarily linked). It may be more tricky than we’d like?
To a point, I understand the request, but I also think the option of having people post to ask questions and get clearer understanding is worthwhile. Believe me, I am as OCD about keeping a thread focused, but I have had to loosen my grip a bit based on a range of comments lately and over the years.

Already signed up … just having a little fun to see if I could get that magic email back. ![]()
Are there any plans to incorporate other health sensors into adaptive training? Specifically, devices like the Whoop strap or (preferably) the Oura ring?
They talked about hopes to incorporate things for steps, sleep, HRV and anything else that helps fill the picture for better understanding of the rider and their current state. It’s deep into the podcast from last week, but they covered a range of options.
