No snark taken!
But that’s exactly the point of this thread. I have essentially been doing what you suggest and been served 3 successive decreases in my FT detection (despite biiiiig promises).
I thought it was odd. Normally shared calendar links go to the current calendar, I had to explore a bit.
So your custom plan is for six days a week, and you’ve not added rides to that, you’re sticking to the plan?
No thoughts on the workouts of the 12th and 15th in the week before your last detection?
I’ve just turned mine off - i had become slightly obsessed with it, as I would see it every time i looked at career or calendar page… refreshing … teasing … giving false hope … building me up and knocking me down day after day ![]()
Going forward, it may help to consider an off-season block to let your body fully recover before building again, reducing volume slightly with even one extra rest day making a difference, following Fatigue Detection recommendations on yellow or red days, and sticking closer to what the AI Training window is prescribing.
Honestly, I think it comes down to finding a better balance between training stress and recovery. A small step back now could set you up for a stronger push forward.
That said, I see you’re taking almost 3 weeks off! This is a great opportunity to reset things and taking that much needed time I was talking about.
After this, I would create a brand new training plan that is at least 6 month long, and go with the recommended volume and training approach TR recommends.
If you can keep your interval workouts inside and do your endurance workouts outside, I believe you’ll get better FTP gains, as naturally interval workouts are what brings those gains and you’re able to adhere to workouts better in a more control environment, aka, indoors.
Lastly, I’d recommend doing what’s being prescribed than changing things too much to Alternates or adding extra workouts. Alternates are fine, but if you’re changing almost every single workout with them as we see on your Calendar, then it’s only natural the prediction will deviate.
I would start with those few pointers and we can always touch base as you start completing your plan ![]()
