Anyone catch what the latest flight attendant firmware does? I cannot find release notes. 2.48.8 I believe.
I keep meaning to confirm if you can use a 3rd party sensor, but its kind of a pain in the ass to do the ANT+ pairing in the app. I had alot of trouble getting that part working when I bought the bike. I used the SRAM FA Cadence sensor at first, then moved to an older ANT+ Quarq, and then eventually to a new SRAM PM with the pairing button. Getting those components paired in/out of the system was a total PITA.
Iāve been eye balling the Superior for the last month. Itās currently $5kAU on sale right now for the 9.7 RC
Funnily enough Iāve got a set of BTLOS wheels on my current XC bike that would go on it. I also thought if I got it Iād have to give the new di2 a go too as the upgrade seems logical. Iād pretty much being doing exactly what youāve done.
Iāve still got to sell my road bike to help fund it but after riding it for a while would you recommend it? The other bike Iāve been looking at is the Canyon Lux worldcup CF8 but think the Superior might be the better buy. I was a bit worried as Iām not sure how DT swiss suspension support is here in Australia.
Did you think about getting a DT dropper? Theyāre meant to be pretty light and you can get a remote that works with their dropper and suspension.
Fixed post is probably nicer to minimise clutter and weight though.
Anyone riding the BTLOS i30AS (and their hubs)? Looking for info on ride compliance, any issues with hubs or rims, Thanks
I have them. No issues. They ride nice and are lightweight.

Broke a spoke warming up for a race. No spare. Just a small local race, so no big deal but still bad timing.
Letās not go there
.Then again life is short. A few months ago I almost got killed when I got hit by a car riding my bike . Enjoy life while you can.
Looks like the ā24 sworks epic are finally dropping into the $10k-$11k range now that the ā26 are released.
Comparing a ā24 and ā26 in specs, it seems pretty minimal. Not $5k worth.
Are the leftover 24ās a bargain right now, or what are some other deals to keep in mind? I keep gravitating to the Scotts a bit, but donāt seem to have as steep of discounts. Anything else I should be looking at?
Curious what folksā thoughts are about upgrading wheels vs upgrading to Flight Attendant suspension? Iām riding an Epic 8 with Roval Carbon Controls so a reasonably light 1500-ish gram wheelset thatās awesome for daily riding - thinking of either getting another pair of wheels (where I could shave off 200-300 grams) or upgrading suspension to Flight Attendant (where I might gain some weight especially if I swap from a OneUp dropper to a Reverb AXS to have all my controls with AXS, but gain some efficiency).
flight attendant by a country mile. Those a decent wheels. That said, Iāve never found any significant gains from small weight savings while others find it to be important. Just a matter of priorities, but I see FA as a big upgrade vs. maybe a half pound weight savings as immaterial.
Ordered the sworks epic 8 today. Screaming deal for $10,150 shipped that I couldnāt pass up. A local shop had the same bike in stock. I asked if theyād price match but they said that $10k must be an error and no way I was picking it up for that. Ordered it as soon as we hung up!
I just accepted a job in Washington state so will have unreal trails 45 mins from the house compared to the options here in Houston.
I went to a store today to test ride one to check sizing. My lord is the FA unreal, and bike is so smooth/light. Night and day difference from my ibis ripley v4s that I sold last year (about 6-7 lbs lighter). My ibis always felt a little big (L) and the geometry was near identical to the L epic, so I went with the medium. With that in mind, I will definitely need a longer stem. Since it had integrated handlebars/stems, are the recommendations that I just purchase the same roval, but longer stem?
I wouldnāt mind a two piece option so I could adjust stem more in the future if needed. I also wouldnāt mind an option where I could throw on a set of aero bars as Iād like to someday do multi-day gravel/single track rides or races and love having that option. Not sure if you could slap aero bars on the tapered factory bars.
I havenāt done a ton of mtb in the past, so will probably have a million questions on FA and features in general. Starting with.. any suggestions on a shock pump?
Washington has some of the best. trails out of anywhere. Depending where you live your local trail system could be really spicy but generally most places have a lot of flow too.
Weāre pretty pumped, big change from Texas! Weāll be outside Vancouver (WA). I donāt think itās the pinnacle of Washington cycling but Iām finding endless trails 30-45 minutes from the house that are on a different planet from what we have in Houston. Venture out a couple hours, plus being on the border with Oregon, tons of good options. I mostly just ride gravel and the options for that in that area seem as good if not better. Right now I have to drive 80+ miles to get to a 40 mile gravel loop, Iāll have something infinitely better about 15-20 miles away.
Whereād you get the bike for that price? Leftover 2024/25 making way for new stock?
Itās a leftover model. I compare side by side on the specialized site and the changes were very minimal. Probably not anything Iāll ever notice (and different paint).
Purchased it here - looks like they have just XL left. They had medium in both colors and then when one sold out I jumped on the other color before the test ride to make sure it was secured. Wasnāt charged tax or shipping, either! Just got tracking for shipment today.
Awesome score! I got the same bike earlier this year that looked brand new from TPC. Traded in my Epic EVO that had remote lockout and XX1 which I loved. Ended up being a huge upgrade and by far the best bike I have ever owned!
Epic 8 big upgrade over Epic Evo?
Arenāt they pretty much the same bike? (minus the flight attendant⦠or is this what you were referring to as a great upgrade?)
FA and Transmisson were a big upgrade. I believe the geometry was also updated and slightly more travel. For me all around it rides much better than my epic evo.
My new steed. Yeti ASR Medium at 23.9lbs or 10.85kg with pedals, cages, GPS Mount. Moved most of the build from my 2022 Epic Evo. Just needed the new one up V3 dropper and Next SL Bars. Could lighten it with the tyres but the Ray and Ralph are great for NZ. Has FA and T Transmission XX SL with Roval Control SL wheelset.
