Apparently Evie didn’t get the memo the steep seat tube angles are the best….
When will companies also realize this??
The Top Fuel wasn’t designed as a pure XC bike. It makes sense that the seat tube angle of a Top Fuel is going to be steeper than a Supercaliber, and that using the Top Fuel as a pure race bike might involve some compromises.
Trek messed up their design/geometry of this bike and missed the mark parting from XC. That bike is way too slacked out and “trail”. I would assume in the XCO World Cup their racers have reduced the shock to 120. Also, they’re running flight attendant which is not even available to buy on a TF from Trek at this time.
Are we expecting anything new next week at sea otter? So much stuff was released the last few weeks. potentially only new tires if any?
Wireless XTR might break cover.
I’d be on the lookout for a few new tires at sea otter for sure.
I mean sure, they are good ones though, do you really not think there is any variation out of all of china?
They also have parts readily available for the hubs unlike if you order from some random brand on ali.
anyone using the new allied duet bar/stem combo? they have impressive sub 200g weight, wondering how is the ride feel, they are wide for XC so cutting them down will reduce the weight even more
I am not using this, did not know this existed but wanted to drop a line saying THANK YOU for asking about it as this looks exactly like what I have been looking for my bike!
The Flight Attendant Update for hardtails and epic wcs came out today! All i had to do was update software through the app, then calibrate the system like you would normal flight attendant. Only difference is it doesnt ask you for tilt calibration, presumably from the lack of shock data.
I was super interested in it but unfortunately they don’t make them in longer stem lengths and apparently don’t plan to. Was really hoping for a 90mm and I’d order immediately.
New Salsa Spearfish came out today, weary of the steep STA, but otherwise looks quite good:

A bit expensive as a frame only option for me.
First thing I said, “I’m out with that steel of a seat tube”
light bicycle has better stuff for less money that’s all
Is the smallest chainring that will fit a XXSL Transmission powermeter 32 teeth? I have weak power and will be riding exclusively marathon events so need to keep my power down anyways.
Yeah, 32T is the smallest as far as I can tell. That’s what I run on mine.
Agreed, 32 is the smallest. I’d love a smaller one. I keep looking for 3rd party versions but no one makes the threadon chainrings that I’ve seen
I was wondering what you guys were talking about so I looked it up, man that kinda seems like a PITA… maybe not, makes it hard to get other chainrings though.
The actual method of attachment is way better than the traditional 4 bolts. Only downside is limited selection/no aftermarket.
