Formula 1: Drive To Survive (on Netflix)
I never watched F1 before…then watched both season of Drive to Survive last year and got hooked. Awesome series!
The only “problem” is that I got so in to it, that it affected my respiration and HR at times. Hilarious. In Training Peaks, I would annotate with “TV” to let me know that this little spike was nothing related to the ride.
+1 for Schitts Creek
I loved it, my partner loved it, our 18 year old loved it, our 13 year old loved it.
Can’t recommend it highly enough.
Also liking/liked:
Ozark
Pen15
The Undoing
It’s winter so TGR ski movies, duh.
My wife got me watching The Leftovers on HBO last week. We blew through three seasons in a week. It was wild.
Oh and FIS Alpine World Cup on the Olympics channel. Ski jumping is cool too. Those guys are nuts.
+1
Surprised nobody has mentioned The Expanse on Amazon Prime.
I also forgot to mention Cobra Kai S3…for children of the 80’s, the series is great (not artistically necessarily, but great for nostalgia).
Agreed that the Queen’s Gambit is a no-distractions type of show. Too good for even a recovery ride!
The Playbook on Netflix was a good trainer show for me. Each episode follows a successful coach in a different sport. Somewhat motivating and interesting, but nothing too demanding cognitively. I also like to read easy thrillers while riding. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch was a wild one.
The Leftovers is second only to Mad Men as far as my top shows ever. I always tell people to give it a few episodes, and they are always hooked by the time they see the “Nora” episode.
To be fair there is a LOT of cross over between F1 and Americas Cup, not saying this is the reason for INEOS involvement. Basically you are playing with airfoil designs and in the case of a F1 car creating downforce and yachting creating lift. There is a reason Ross Brawn left Brawn and went to AC for a stint before returning back to F1 as technical director.
Podcast…Geraint Thomas Cycling Club
40 episodes to listen too at the time of writing.
Money Heist on Netflix is my current watch. When that’s done I will watch the latest season of Ozark.
Ozark is fantastic (as always)…impatiently waiting for S4P2 to drop now!!!
Reacher on Amazon Prime is pretty good so far, but I am only 2 episodes in. Been watching on the elliptical and makes the time zip by, so it should be great for the trainer as well.
