Zwift "Premium", TR Merger or Add-In speculation

I spend a good bit of time on Zwift during some stages of my training and also just doing races and group rides for fun. I don’t know if it’s the best way to get faster, but their are some elite riders spending a good bit of time there. I’m not talking about weight doping z-power folks, but legit racers. There is also a good sense of community around some of the group rides and racing. Just like outside, you have to do some looking to find the rides/races that fit the bill. Neither Zwift or real life shop rides replace structured training, but that doesn’t mean they don’t make you faster or help you win more races.

It actually does save locally. But you have to upload it yourself. I’m not mentioning that to discount your point. Zwift needs to do better. Just mentioning it incase you have that happen again.

No, then we are ZW|FTR

What’s a Facebook?

Let’s face it. The real get for Zwift would be a Peloton buyout. Peloton stop worrying about shipping bikes but allow people to bring bikes to their platform
Using watts.

Peloton builds the meta for working out rationalizing the UI for virtual reality of their products on the zwift platform. Of course, peloton could bring their treadmill along.

All they need is a mirror like product for lifting weights by the way you could use the mirror for checking form on your workouts weights and on the bike. Maybe even a little wind tunnel simulation.

Imagine a world where you could cycle with your friends virtually one hour and WODapolzza with them another without leaving your house! I mean that’s why we ride bikes. To stay indoors. Of course, we could all do our workouts fasted with a shot of tart cherry juice post lift.

A long way of saying, Zwift and Strava for that matter have never been stellar with new features. Peloton’s market cap down so acquisitions are not that easy. But it’s a no brainer.

TR workouts on Zwift already? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve watched this post from afar for a few days, too many comments to read everything but there is a lot of personal opinion shown, love for Nate etc but this type of speculation for every TrainerRoad employee, unless they’re more informed than we are, will be extremely stressful and upsetting. I’m sure more than a few are stressing about their jobs, ability to pay bills, support family etc and all we seem worried about is what graphics we get to train with or if we’ll see price rises.

I remember when all we had to argue about was the usefulness (or not) of rocker plates. We’ve come a long way since then.

I’d say there’s a whole raft of TR users too - it’s what I do anyway. Turbo controlled by TR and turbo sending just the power (not controllable) to zwift.

I doubt TR employees are reading through this entire thread and it’s not like after that Zwift survey went out they couldn’t put 2 and 2 together.
Nobody here is hoping for somebody to lose their jobs at TR or Zwift. The community here didn’t get the ball rolling. TR and Zwift did. So if you’re upset for any undo stress placed upon TR and Zwift employees you’re targeting the people who have no control over it.

I don’t think you understand why people love Peloton. In general (of course there are exceptions), people buy a Peloton because they want to laugh, sing, get some positive affirmation, etc., all while getting in a good quick hard workout. 99% of Peloton riders would try Zwift, say “that’s neat”, and then go back to taking classes. If they really like Zwift, they buy a trainer and put a bike on it. This would be a terrible partnership.

Nice would be if TR wound up in charge of more than that. Marketing and customer service for instance.

In truth, if I didn’t already love Trainerroad, the customer service might be enough on its own to keep me subscribed. They’re amazing.

Their podcast is great. They invest a lot of time for the podcasts which often have interesting and helpful information. And to have their leadership being on there answering questions and discussing future ideas is great.

New APP Update today. So TR is still working for imrovements.
But I wonder why nobody of TR is making ANY Statements.

If I really wanted to waste some time, it would be funny to find those rare podcast clips where the tease and criticize Zwift. It’s been years but one of the most obvious ones without actually using the Z word made fun of “volcanoes” :stuck_out_tongue:

If there is something happening, making a statement could jeopardize a deal.

If there is nothing happening, and they say that, plenty of people just won’t believe them and the rumors will keep spiraling.

If there is truly nothing happening, this thread will eventually die off because there will be no news to talk about.

There is no benefit to TR making a statement about any of this until there is something to say.

I’m in the TR and Zw user camp. Think they compliment each other brilliantly for winter training. I’ve used the Zw custom plan builder to replicate a few TR workouts for when CX race footage is lacking and the results are underwhlming from a trainer performance perspective and adjusting in ERG mode. I have a Neo and it works brilliantly on TR but shockingly with Zw.

OMG… no Nate planned for this weeks podcast… why won’t he be there? Out having secret meetings with Z reps… or looking for the next brawl? :stuck_out_tongue:

Speculating minds want to know.
