From what I understand, extensive burn scars from last year’s fires, plus rain = 3 major floods in Ruidoso so far this year, with more reasonably expected given monsoon season.
I am currently registered, but have serious questions about the viability of this year’s event, and the town’s readiness and willingness to host. (I’m from Central Texas and would not even consider at event anywhere near Kerrville in the foreseeable future)
The lack of any communication from Xterra is concerning at best.
What are the odds this happens? Is the town ready, willing, and able to host? Is the right thing to do, to show up and contribute tourism dollars to the community, or stay away while they rebuild?
