Why is my AI FTP today not what it's been consistently saying it would be?

It’s been predicting 315W today (give or take a watt) for a couple of weeks. Today it was due, and today it says 308W.

I did do a hard group ride today, has that massively affected it somehow? Or is it just a bug?

I’ve seen something slightly different, but similar. What I think it’s doing (just supposition - no idea if it’s actually doing this) is adjusting the AIFTP number down to take into account acute fatigue. So it’s saying “this is the number you should use if you were doing a workout right now based on where you are right now”.

I suspect if you’d detected your FTP tomorrow or the day after (assuming no rides) then you’d get a bigger number.

I can only assume it’s that. And it’s right, if I was training tomorrow, I’d struggle, probably even at 308!

But I’m not. I’ll be training next week after a couple of rest days.

Go with the 308, or put 315 in manually?

Ideally you’d go with the AI FTP Detection value  But if you manually set it to 315 the system will still recommend workouts based on your power data.
