I flirt with the idea of doing this pretending in my head it will garner positive attention (it won’t), but then I remember default cycling position hides my abs
Nobody wants to see your ugly armpit hairs!

For the same reason 99.9% of people have sleeves on their t-shirts…?
Skin friction drag.
I understood that sleeveless triathlon clothing was for freeing up the shoulders during the swim not because it looks cool.
Sleeveless only on recovery rides, In June only. New rule. It’s in the book.
This reminds me that I really need to work on my no hands Twizzler handup game for cross season. I’ve surely dissapointed countless toddlers with my ineptitude at this…having Twizzlers bounce off my face and land in the mud ![]()
This is the thread I never knew I needed. Thank you.

I’ve been a roadie since the 80’s and wear sleeveless whenever its hot and sunny! Gotta work on combatting the classic tan lines!

coming from a running background, people love to debate shorts length, singlet vs shirt vs no shirt, etc but honestly just do whatever. I once did a track warm up in a poncho and raced in a crop-top hoody so… ![]()
I wear sleeves because I get fried (pale skin problems), and sunscreen melts off over the course of a long ride. I wear sun sleeves too on particularly hot days, as well as long fingered thin gloves
I used to see some of the older triathletes who rode with my cycling group and the condition of their skin was… poor. I don’t want my skin to look like that when I’m their age.

Because most people where I live don’t wear sleeveless jerseys, whether they’re on a bike or not. Guess it depends a lot on climate and local fashion preferences.
Plus, clearly no standard cycling jersey has sleeves voluminous enough to accommodate those pythons! ![]()
I’m laughing, but this hits way too close to home. Do your thing Brendan!!!
Fashion aside, it wouldn’t be very practical for us fairer skinned folk to have our shoulders exposed to the sun. Also if you’ve got skinny arms like me you need sleeves to hold the arm warmed up
Besides a gap at the top of the arm warmers would be ![]()
It’s fun when certain threads resurface. Keep this one rolling!
