Who’s in the sick house?

Not a spot of illness during the whole year.

I enter season break and BAM I have a cold for a week and still sniffing. :man_shrugging:

Hopefully on the tail end of a cold and can finally begin training for 2020 season.

Started with runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, and then it went south to the lungs. Coughing up phlegm. Seems like the tail end of the illness for me. Will likely start a new base training schedule. I had just started week 2 of SPB MV. No big deal, I need more base training anyhow.

Holy cr…! Not the response I was expecting. Good luck on the recovery, and don’t blame your celebrations too much - infections are infections.

Getting over a fairly quick cold. I ended up taking a week off of TR and rowing which involved missing the 5th week of SSB LV I. I decided to just pick it up with week 6 this week, do another week or recovery, and then start SSWLV II the week after.

The bike has been Petit and Bald Knob were both fine, but rowing this morning…

So… this cold progressed from my throat to my sinuses to my chest, but I had to have an ambulance come out last night.

About 4PM onwards my chest started tightening and my inhalers were doing sweet FA. Called 111 at 8 to run through the options and they sent out the paramedics who hooked me up to a nebuliser with salbutamol for about an hour, but it took a secondary drug to finally offer some relief.

Lots of R & R for me till it clears. I just want to take a whole lungful of air again please.

I’ve had a cold since Wednesday, and still coughing my lungs out. I already pushed the coming week of SSBMV1 forward by one week, so in case I could continue training let’s say at the beginning of next week, I’ll be taking it very easy for the first few day.

Let’s hope I’ll get over this quickly, though.

My goodness! Curl up in front of FB and watch the race!

stomach flu , luckily only lasted 2 days . Still feel a bit weak but this happens to be rest week anyways so no heavy workouts :muscle:

Every year, like clockwork, the seasons change in Michigan and I end up with sinus issues. Thankfully it only puts me off the bike once or twice in the rough 10 days that it lingers with me. Since its mostly neck up sickness, I can make my way through training without too much derailment. Dealing with it right now :frowning:

I totally get you. I have no idea what it is about the change of the seasons, but summer-to-fall and winter-to-spring hit me like ten pounds of sputum in a five pound bag (gd dmn that grossed even me out).

Yeah, I’m not sure I can like that post…

I’m surviving! (Famous last words). Wife and kids went through a light cold last week, I just felt a bit off but no symptoms.

Started off season 10 days OK. Had the UK Flu jab 7 days ago - I’m asthmatic - and started to feel ill last Wednesday.

With a new play bike delivered Thursday and a promised to ride in the woods with 10yo jnr I went out Saturday which albeit slow was probably a mistake.

Now I’m aching all over and hacking up my lungs with multi coloured output. Yuck.

Eep. Rest up – no more exercise till you’re clear of gunk!

Sick house for me now :frowning:

Have not been feeling right for a week or so, and then had a bad asthma attack at the weekend, so I’ve knocked on the head Monday & Tuesday this week and rearranged by plan - hopefully be ok for ‘Warlow’ on Wednesday evening

sick but still training squad, WATCH THIS! Do not ride sick!

Did business travel last week, every flight seems to have been packed with sneezing/coughing/wheezing people, I was sure I was going to get it. But no. Was actually ok yesterday morning, got my 2nd shot of shingles vaccine, and ended up freezing/sweating the entire evening and night. Skipped this morning’s session. Should be ok tomorrow…

This has probably been beaten to the death, but if you sick mid plan (i have work stress and sore throat so Tuesday and Thursday is active recovery for me) week 4 of low volume base, do you just pick up where you left, or how do you adjust the plan? Is there an option to pause the plan and not to skip those workouts after you recover or do i manually reshuffle them into next week and extend the build by week?
