Kind of hacky but if you scrub to a specific point on say your phone app, assuming your AppleTV app is logged into the same account it should remember the spot you left off on the phone app.

A hack but a good one. Will give it a try.
Had this problem for the first time. Deleted the app and reinstalled. I was able to log in and watch the Giro.

What type of speeds are you getting with Zenmate? Are you having connection issues with GCN, when using it with Zenmate?
I have a stupidly fast internet pipe - 1gig symmetric, go fiber - and I’m having issues with GCN+ sputtering when watching races. Even when not on a VPN.
I’m having the same “stuttering” problem but only on the documentaries. The races are fine and i can watch hours without issue. I start watching a doc and after 10 minutes i get spinning wheel of death and program goes back to the beginning.
I have fiber cable so really fast speeds and it only happens on the documentaries. Weird.
Weird. Feels like GCN needs to increase their infrastructure, especially going into the Tour
I find that the response varies with the country that I select to VPN thru. I have found that Italy works well most of the time.
Are you using a newish Samsung TV? I get loads of sputtering issues using the GCN app on my 2022 Samsung TV but don’t have any problems with a slightly older Samsung TV.
I have to use my Google TV single with my newer TV just for GCN 
Edit: just realized that you say you aren’t using a Samsung app earlier in the thread - but I’m leaving my moan here anyway

I mostly use GCN via a web browser, either on my laptop or the pain cave mac mini, since I’ve been working from home full time since the pandemic began.
Is it just me or are the extended highlights just missing for some of the Tour de Suisse stages - e.g. stage 4 and stage 6 (today)? Checked on both the website and the iOS app.

Yep certainly missing for today’s Stage 6. I fired up the app and led on the sofa in anticipation only to be disappointed 
So weirdly, the highlights might actually be tagged onto the end of the full race replay….

So thats where they are. I gave up looking for them and decided to watch the re-live instead.
I’m using the Samsung App on a Samsung TV that’s 4 yrs old maybe. Sputtering on documentaries but fine on races. Just weird.

Quick question…mods feel free to delete…does anyone use GCN over a vpn to get round territory restrictions? Cycling rights in NZ owned by sky sports who are hideously expensive and just smuggle bike coverage in between schoolboy rugby games. Much rather give my money to GCN, if I can work around it…
I had the same issue on my Samsung. Advice from GCN was delete app and reinstall. Solved the issue for me
support of GCN+ is very bad, since Giro the Audio Output on Apple TV with external speakers isn’t working, looked the Tour on Eurosport Player where everything was fine, till today no update on GCN+ App of Apple TV
