What workout did you do today? (2026)

Galena. Three 20min sweet spot at 90%, 94% and 92%.

My HR at the end of each interval was about 155/169/165. I have a max of 192, maybe 195.

This was my 3rd highest hour-pour ever, after 2 outdoor event efforts in the last couple of years.

I was kinda dreading it, I’ve not done many workouts with intervals that long, but it felt fine really. Marked as hard but I contemplated putting moderate… The AI is already forecasting a bump up to 325 in 6 days, which feels like (more than) enough and dictated which side of the fence I landed on!

I was 292 before the update. On day 1 it put me up to 289, and then had two bumps up to 302 (IIRC) & 308. I think that last one should have been 315 as it’s what it showed up til the last day, but then I did a 5hr/300TSS ride immediately before the detection, which it didn’t seem to like!

Overall I’m very happy with the update. I think having a forecasted number is making me be much better about not skipping workouts / not quitting when it gets hard, and probably most importantly FUELLING and RESTING better.

325… jeepers. Wish me luck.

Put some music on at the end to get some focus.

Hi! Fun thread, I’ll try to participate. I am someone who does manual FTP adjustments (ends with a 0 or a 5) and manual workout selections, going on for at least a year maybe two now. I stopped using HR in the past year which I found distracting and somewhat negative; RPE and breathing rate are enough.

My calendar is public if anyone cares.

Since I primarily do workouts outside, the weather can dictate to some degree what type of workouts I will do. That meant this week I did:

4x8 supra-thresh, ample rest. Originally meant for a Tuesday, pushed to Wednesday, and it went well, “Hard”.

Since I prefer to have my Fridays be a rest day before going in to potential long unstructured weekend rides, I wanted something more than endurance for the Thursday. I figured sweet spot would be a good follow-up to the previous day’s threshold.

I had done Eclipse+1 last week, so this Ferreira SS 5x16 pyramid wasn’t a stretch. However, going in with prior fatigue, this one definitely drained my legs. It is an interesting feeling to have an RPE of ~8/10 throughout the entire workout, typical of SS, but feeling your leg muscles wind down and down to nothing. So I rated this “Very Hard” as I would not be able to complete another interval.

Well done getting them done outside with that degree of precision. :bullseye::+1: And I laughed way too hard at some of your ride titles!:rofl::rofl:

Thanks! I’m lucky to have a 5-6 minute flat stretch of road, about 15 minutes out from the house (perfect warmup time). It’s not a long stretch but I don’t mind doing the hairpin turns.

hah yea the titles are a good way to remind myself how those days went, when looking back at recent training.

Galena +3 today. I did Tray Mountain +3 last Saturday, which is nearly identical to Galena +3, but with longer recoveries.

I rated this hard after struggling through Tray Mountain last week. I went into today’s session well fueled and rested and it made a world of difference.

Heart rate was much better balanced during today’s session compared to Tray Mountain last week. Here is Galena:

Here is Tray Mountain:

The timelines aren’t aligned, but here is an HR comparison. Pink is Galena +3:

Today was the one an only Cloudripper -2.
Felt good for this one legs were spinning well. Gave it a Hard rating at the end but I guess TR didn’t quite see it that way, I got hit with the Red card for tomorrow.
So I just I’ll just enjoy my sofa intervals tomorrow. :couch_and_lamp::joy:
Strange part when looking back on my calendar the last time I did Cloudripper -2 it was a Red card after the workout also.

Threshold is the worst, a whole world of suck, but that nice smug feeling you get when you get through it! I discovered by mistake that the tab button on my keyboard starts a new lap timer in Zwift, and hitting that on the minute every minute was absolutely instrumental in getting me through the last 10 minutes of that last interval

Not technically a TR workout for me tonight or even a structured indoor workout but I finally got round to testing my Avanti and did half an hour in MyWhoosh. I was pleased how the trainer handled a a virtual ride. I don’t like how you end a ride in MyWhoosh, it took me a bit to find the correct menu and during that time it continues to freewheel.

Nice job on Fish.
I was looking for some type of manual or cheat sheet on the keyboard commands for Zwift.
I once did something that took ok it out of Erg mode and put the trainer in Resistance mode without me noticing.
I thought my trainer was broken and could not understand why the TR app worked but Zwift wasn’t working.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Very well done! :muscle: Level 6 hey? Somebody’s FTP is going through the roof soon.

First indoor workout in a long time, but I’m glad I kept my rollers! Absolutely as horrible as I remember though. Sloan +2 is prescribed as a sweet spot 6.3, but I only achieved a 5.7 or something. I guess TR re-grades the actual score for indoors only.

308 up to 323 in a few days. But things are feeling pretty hard already… :grimacing::rofl:

Sounds like TR’s preparing you for it already.:flexed_biceps:

Weather’s been sh:poop:t all weekend here for outdoorsy activities, with 5-10 minutes of light rain about every half hour & averaging 40kph winds. Just when you realise it’s been pleasant outside for a little while, there’s raindrops smacking into the window. Managed to find a half hour patch this morning so I went out for a fairly easy 5k.
Finally this evening I caught a break, but still didn’t trust it’d be long enough for today’s 1½h Z2 workout, so instead did Tuesday’s Gawler -3 (3×5×90-30s) on the hill where I live.

Cadence was lower than I prefer, but the hill is varying grades of climbing & I wasn’t shifting chainrings for 30-second recoveries. Missed a few interval targets thanks to PM-»app latency, but somehow still got a little extra on the AL. :person_shrugging:

Finished just in time too; I was encroaching on indecisive hoppy marsupial time, with two wallabies sighted on my descent back home during the cooldown. :kangaroo::kangaroo: :grimacing:
Will see what the next few days bring. Now that I have an extra day I might be able to do the missed Z2 workouts after work.

You must live pretty close to me, exactly the same here. Looks like it MIGHT stay dry for more than half an hour at a time this afternoon… and the wind’s dropped off a fair bit too. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

:person_raising_hand: Ex-canetoad here, now living it up at South Hobart. :star_struck:
Apparently it’s been squally & rainy at times over at Victoria too, as the Indipac dotwatchers have been saying.

Struggled again, will shuffle to Saturday next week see if that works better for me.

Garmin is liking my progress into Superior though

Good day to watch cycling on TV.
