Riding slow does NOT makes you faster. It makes you slower.

You should only wear a kit when mountain biking if you are in a race.

It doesn’t matter if you stop during a ride on the trainer.

TrainerRoad should be two words.

Bicycles are mechanical wonders. Components that require batteries to perform their primary functions have no place on a bike.

Wide handlebars belong on road bikes

Downtube shifters and disc brakes are a match made in heaven

KoolAide is great ride fuel

Gitane should be pronounced with a hard “G”

Specialized is an ironic name

The more bags there are on a bike, the better the rider

Power meters have ruined cycling

Pie plates look awesome on a road bike

Hydraulic disc brakes are no better than good cable operated disc brakes

40mm should be the minimum tire width in the pro peloton

Disc brakes don’t provide more braking power than rim brakes. They can equally throw you over the bars.

Group riding on the road is a waste of training time, and only exists because long solo road rides are mind-numbingly boring.

Pedalling on the spot indoors isn’t cycling. And people that ‘only ride indoors’ aren’t cyclists.

Riding indoors is just a fitness exercise thats relatively useful for actual cycling. Real cycling is a method of transport that takes you from A to B (and often back) outdoors.

I like your first point a lot. Riding easy when you’re supposed to will make you faster in the long run, but just riding “slowly” is too vague. Actual endurance riding in zone 2 isn’t necessarily slow - it’s just very consistent. For example, I ride zone 2 around 220-240 watts outside. That is not slow. It is pretty much impossible to maintain on anything but open roads.

There is no such thing as Long, slow distance…it is long, steady distance. Speed is irrelevant.
