Great point. If this rollout takes away from letting employees spend time with family – push the launch
This is great news! will considerably reduce the amount of tech / faff for my setup.
Curious to know what the activity will look like when it hits Strava - hoping both the Zwift pictures AND blue TR graphic appear
I love the idea. I’d be very open to using my head unit for workouts. This is a great change for the better. Recently, I tried to move one workout outdoors and it was way more complicated than necessary.
I agree with the others on exact targets, for indoor workouts that’s the right thing to do. Even outdoors, I’d like to try it.
Will it be possible to sync workouts to TP to TPV / directly to TPV?
Excellent great to hear!
While running Zwift and TR simultaneously isn’t difficult, this will be so much simpler.
Happy to join a beta tester version. I’m already running TR with Zwift on a daily basis.
I prefer a range as outdoors you are never likely to hold a single number for long unless you are using power over 1min or more?
When doing TR workouts on Zwift, will it do something similar to PowerMatch for those of us who use a separate power meter and smart trainer?
Yup, Zwift has a similar “PowerMatch” function when a smart controlled trainer and power meter are both paired.
Can we please make it so Garmin shows the current power prominently rather than the lap average? I don’t understand how that is useful, I imagine it causes people to chase the wrong thing in case where they had to slow/down stop because they are outside.
I might be misunderstanding, but Garmin’s default workout screen is up to Garmin. I don’t know if that’s editable, but can make your own workout screen with whatever you want.
TR decides to make it lap based, my Training Peaks workouts show 3S. I prefer Garmin’s default workout screen, as some things I can’t set in a custom screen.
Here is a long thread with others requesting this for a while: Feature request - 3s power on Garmin default workout page
I would like both. I want my current 3s power and the lap average. They are both meaningful.
I would like to see that TR can pull rides from Wahoo! Syncing with intervals.icu would also be nice to see my TR plan in my calendar.
Is there any plan to add Android Health Connect?
Trying to track the logic here…
Does this mean all workouts will be synced to all accounts regardless of intention of indoor/outdoor rides(making that toggle obsolete)?
Furthermore, I anticipate its overloading my garmin device with workouts overtime with TR prescribed workouts (even over winter) and requiring manual deleting.
Excited about TR on zwift but making sure the team thought through these scenarios.
This sounds great. I’m sure you’re going to get a request for similar connectivity to other simulators, like MyWoosh, Rouvy, etc.
Would the solution be to sync the workout to
training peaks, which then pushes it to the relevant simulator?
Would also require TP to sync activities back to TR
This is a good point actually.
Managing space on my 830 is pretty hard work.
Linked to the last comment about headunit data capacity (for synced workouts); I currently have my TR account linked to my Strava and Wahoo accounts, but don’t currently do any TR workouts outdoors using my Wahoo Bolt headunit and am unlikely to, however my syncing of my Wahoo to Strava and then subsequently to TR allows any outdoor rides to come over into my TR calendar.
I presume that for users in my scenario, there will be no action to take (or any easy option available) to limit / de-link any preferences to avoid future planned TR workouts being pushed to my head unit?
Or have I completely misunderstood how this all works?
