Wahoo's future...bleak?

They were reasonably quick to respond when my Tickr failed after a year, but not fast enough to stop me reading forums, discovering it was a common/ frequent problem and ordering a Polar H10 which came faster!

So…should I start a new thread to identify these better desks?

I want one but my mind is still stuck in 2015. I’d like to see whats changed and what is good.

Wiggle LifeLine desk currently on sale for £55 (unpowered version). Not sure if Wiggle exists in USA?

It does in the UK

I’m in the minority here. I like Zwift, but would love an option to ride alone. I’d rather have an empty world. Easier on my computer as well not having to load other avatars.

100%. I never leave my phone. I don’t get why you would want to.

I think Chain Reaction Cycles are in the USA and you can get it there (I cant remember who bought who CRC or Wiggle).

I’d always have my phone as backup also but some folk just like that getting away from everything aspect.

But you’re not getting away from everything if you just move it all onto your wrist.

Yea, maybe I’m just too nervous that I’d get into trouble somewhere and be stuck.

I used to do this all the time with the world hack. I also prefer to ride alone. I’ve been knocking out all the routes lately though, so back to feeling like I’m riding in the middle of a shopping mall. At least I’m finally done with the ridiculous overpopulation of NYC!

I was doing a ride the other day on Fuego Flats and a pace partner group overtook and passed me. I swear I dropped down to like 10 frames per second until they all went through. Sputtering and jumping around. I get that people like the social aspect but I’d rather just ride by myself.

Doesn’t a watch need bluetooth to the phone to display text/phonecalls etc my vivioactive does, its pretty dumb without a phone.

Riding alone was the only option I had when I tried Zwift, because there is no Wi-Fi in my paincave. If you want an empty world its as simple as turning off your internet connection.

Lol its one of the reasons I prefer RGT, its just less crowded than Zwift :joy:

You can get the mobile plan for some Apple Watches and make calls/texts without your phone.

I read somewhere that when doing this there are complications with saving the ride/synching to Strava, etc. no firsthand experience though.

When you’re picking your world/route in the menu it shows you how many riders are active in each of the 3 available worlds. Its rarely even. IIRC, last night when I got on there were 4800 riding in Watopia and 345 in all of Yorkshire. While you can’t guarantee being totally alone, its usually pretty easy to find a quiet spot if that’s your thing. I also seem to recall hearing reference to a secret way to select a world that’s not one of the 3 daily choices
