Wish they would have live streamed the finish
Who were the top 3?
Looks like Swenson, Vakoc, and Morton
Cool.
Over under on amount of time to first spirit of gravel complaint from one of the losers?
It’s crazy how unsafe the finish sprint was. Keegan had to tuck against the barriers to go around a 100 miler taking a selfie ![]()
If anything is the “sprit of gravel” I think that’s it. Ha. 100 milers are just part of the course.
They really need to separate the finish for the leading pros vs. other riders. That has been evident for the last few years and they even acknowledged the danger after Boswell’s win.
So, what did the pros do for the 2mi hike a bike section and the 2nd hike a bike section? I found the first hike a bike section was complete bs and pretty much ruined the race (in fact there was talk on Friday they were going to change the course). It make me really question if I want to do this race next year.
This is just one person, but Laura King posted about a multi-mile hike.
This is one race I never want to do because the organizer just don’t care enough to make this an enjoyable race.
Yes, they put on a good event, but the course was terrible. I get it that weather happens, but it seems like Unbound is always about the course and not the racing.
Did they really run out of water
Anyone know what happened to Ted King in unbound XL? He released his XL bike setup video a day or two ago but can’t find his name in the results
Yes
Instagram stories reported the long hike a bike section around mile 180 did him in (as it did to many others).
Finsterwald didn’t have water the last two hours, and finished sixth in the seven-rider sprint.
The hike-a-bike section 100% ruined my race. I was cramping by mile 20 and had nothing left but suffering, so I pulled the plug at 40. The KC Jeep driver that picked me up said they suggested they reroute around the mud section because it was so bad, but I guess it was ignored.
200 miles is hard enough, so I don’t understand why they need to include the miles of mud if it is avoidable.
I agree
Something off if your cramping at mile 20?
How does he mess up and have no water?
