Lottery for the XL opens next week and the rest early next year. Did the 200 the past couple of years and will likely do some version again next year lottery gods willing. Who else is in (or at least planning on trying)?

Not strict at all in my experience

Last year I had a Bontrager Ion on the front at the start and turned it off shortly thereafter. This year I’ll do the same at the start of the 200 and have my Light & Motion Seca setup in my checkpoint 2 drop bag and maybe something smaller in drop #1.

How do people use Garmin Smart Eat/Drink Alerts when using only liquid nutrition? Should I scale it down to just one of these (Eat or Drink) or use both?

That’s a good question. I historically used both but after a few hours I found I lost focus on what they meant or where I was at with them given eating and drinking are often the same thing. I’m going to experiment with just an Eat reminder and try to use that as a reminder for both.

I’ve since changed to Drink as Smart, since it uses heart rate, power and temperature to determine prompts. Eat is now 20 minutes. based on some study results discussed in some of the “Science of Getting Faster” podcasts showing that just trickling food in every 10 minutes isn’t as effective as say…

What are people planning on carrying for on-bike repair stuff for the 200?

Well I am out. My injury has kept me off the bike past 4 weeks, I see the doctor next week. Enjoy it everyone, hoping I can defer to next year
