Hello, does anybody know how to turn off this new feature AI FTP prediction? It is so demotivating…
Thanks!
Is it more demotivating to see the predicted future FTP, and then be able to change your plan to make it more palatable, than to not see the predicted FTP, continue down your current path, and then get that (unseen) FTP the next time you update it?
I follow multi activity path, with some activities dominating in various periods. And cannot modify the general plan to ride stronger just to maintain the ftp. I do not question general usefulness of this feature, but for me it does not work. So it is good that I could turn it off

What exactly does switching off mean: Do I switch off the AIFTP altogether? Most likely not.
But what happens with the predictions then?
I am overreacting in a psychological way and so I don’t want to see the prediction on the dashboard.
Don’t get me wrong: I like the AIFTP and after some getting used to it I fully support the changes!
It turns off the predicted FTP - you still get the an actual FTP detection every 28 days ![]()
This is what your career dashboard will look like…
Thank you! What does the calendar look like?
It still has the placeholder there… but it doesn’t display a number.
If prediction is turned off the workouts after that date are simulated with your current FTP rather than the new number.
I prefer predicted AI FTP off. Seeing the future change does more harm than good, imo.
Even since TR rolled out the power profile for each workout, I’ve found it’s better to focus on that. It’s been to see where in the power profile i am improving today rather than see a number in 28 days.
I’ve noticed it’s done a better job of keeping me motivated. It’s been said several times, “the best predictor of performance is performance itself,” and no better place to see that then the power profile.
Finally, i feel the forum would be more subdued if the focus was on how users power profile were improving based on their workouts rather than changes to their predicted FTP.
I was ok with the AI FTP prediction at first and didn’t mind the up’s and down’s it showed as I went through the workouts. However, now I have an injury related to a crash that has forced me to ride less consistently for several weeks. I’m gradually starting to add short endurance rides back in now, but seeing my predicted FTP plummet because I am being cautious about my return to regular riding is highly demotivating. I honestly wish I could turn off the simulation window off completely and not have it show on my calendar until I get back to regular riding.
