Triathlon Race Day Power Meter Calibration

So I am racing my first triathlon with a power meter this weekend and it occurred to me that I will be (mostly) riding to a power target but I won’t want to stop or wait around in transition to calibrate my power meter before setting off. What do people do for calibrating power meters in triathlons when they will be away from the bike for several hours before they start the bike leg?

I’m using Powertap P1 pedals if that changes what people would do.

I worried about this before my first triathlon, but try not to over think it.

Just calibrate before you leave transition before the race. Leave your bike computer on (but not started), mine has an auto-turn off setting which I had to turn off.

I am jealous that you are racing, enjoy!
