Upgrade in progress:

Current state is just under 6.6 with pedals.
This should cut around 400 to 450g (with these fat tires, for the current terrible weather).

Build is as last complete: last couple of additions have take a long while to source and fit.

This was a bare frame rebuild of my 2017 Cannondale Synapse after an RTA.

Now finished with Selle Italia boost saddle and Bontrager Aeolus Pro 51 wheels with tubeless 28mm GP5000’s’. Also went for the Bontrager skewers with internal cam which look and feel great.

Other changes from stock were an upgrade to all new Ultegra 8000 group set, C-Bear Bottom Bracket that has been transformational in terms of curing the usual BB30 issues, Easton carbon aero bars, and my choice of prologo tape, Ultegra SPD-SL pedals, and complete rebuild with new brake lines and gear cables and new like for like chain ring and Ultegra8000 11-32 cassette. Also Dura Ace 140mm ICE discs as I couldn’t source any Ultegra at the time.

Total weight as shown as a 58cm frame with Garmin Varia, Wahoo Bolt, pedals, saddle pouch and 2x cages is 8.5Kg which I’m happy with as it’s a material drop (circa 550g) from what it was originally with same kit added.

Also pleased with the bling KMC chain :joy:

Beautiful bike. Love the color schemes on the 2021 series.
How do you find the geometry? Could be your frame size but they do strike me as quite endurance-oriented with the sloping top-tube. A sloping top tube doesn’t say anything really, I know, but am curious about your comparison against the Endurace.

What BB/crank spindle did you go with? I’d like to do the same but not sure if I want to go GXP or DUB.

Ooohhh…this looks sooooo good. :star_struck::star_struck::star_struck::star_struck:

I’ve got the same wheels and they’re fantastic. I used the Bontrager rim stips and my tires would be flat after 24 hours. I retaped with 25mm DT Swiss and now I only have to top them off weekly (with the same tires). Just wanted to mention in case you had any issues.

DUB. Has worked well for me for many thousands of ks.

Geo is the same as Tarmac SL7. It’s more aggressive than my Canyon Endurace, which itself is decently racy and not really endurance geometry (as compared to Rouxbaix, Defy, or Synapse). I have 30mm of spacers and use a 100mm -6 degree stem on the Aethos whereas on my Canyon I have just 10mm of spacers and use a 110mm stem with -10 degrees. Wheelbase is pretty short, I think 991mm in my size 56.

It’s not an aero bike aggressive, but it could totally be a race bike.

This is a new frame, replacing a steel one I ruined in a crash last year. Just got it built up last week & was lucky enough to get about 40 miles on it this weekend in western MA. It’s still February, I’m nowhere near fit but I took down 3 PRs I set in 2020 on my full suspension geared Orbea Oiz.

I think I’m really going to like this bike! It’s a Vassago Mooseknuckle, btw.

50% of the way there (no pedals, 11-34 cassette, 52/36 rings, bike‘s a little dirty).
With the other crank, and old Speedplay Nanos, it’s 100g on top. Easy sub 6.1 with non 30c tires, tire inserts etc.

Thanks   I’m super pleased with how it’s turned out.

Thanks for the top-tip. I will see how it goes. :+1:t2:

Upgrades completed :
SRAM Red AXS → DA 9270
DA Stock Crank → Red Crank, Quarq DFour, Shimano 52/36
Bontrager RSL 37 → Extralite Cyberdisc 339 TL
Shimano XTR Rotors → CarbonTi Rotors
Tune Seatclamp → Yuniper Seat Clamp

Current weight: 5980g (52/36 + 11-34) without pedals (136g for Speedplay Nanogram (pre-Wahoo).

Race day configuration will have a smaller front tire (28 instead of 30c) for a projected race weight of 6080g.

Pretty happy!

I know pretty much nothing about track bike hardware (or riding for that matter) but I do know my ss mtb gear ratios. My current gear is 32:20 -what are you running on this bike?

before being scared, keep in mind that track bikes are usually brought up to speed and then supposed to stay at it until the finish line is near. thats slightly different to riding anywhere else.

I’d need a big, long push or have to start at the very top of the track to turn that gear over

Lovely! We don’t get many of those here, but they are sup beautifully uncompromising!
16t is a pretty large cog. What cadence are you aiming at?

Last IP I rode it peaked at around 113rpm and had dropped to around 108rpm by the end
