Here’s my 2016 Fuel Ex 8, definitely not as fancy as some of the bikes in here but it’s every bit as fun! I’m rockin’ Shimano XT 1x11 and flat pedals on this guy!

I recently freshened it up by replacing the stock 120mm Fox 32 with a 130mm Fox 34 fork. I’ve also switched out the stock KS 75mm dropper for a 125mm RaceFace Turbine R (Fox Transfer) dropper.

How’s the ride quality of the rere? Any issues with stiffness or comfort? These have been at the top of my list for some time but it’s hard when you can’t ride one first.

I’ve test ridden a Rere, and the frame has great bang for the buck. But the ride felt, hmmm, less refined than something like a BMC Teammachine or a 3T Strada.

Something old, something new. Just changing the bike on the turbo for new TR workouts. Had the 2018 tri bike on there. This year is all about gravel, until October when I have an IM, so I took my custom-made Calfee carbon Tetra-Tri from 2002, put it on the Kickr, and jiggering the dimensions to approximate my gravel bike, which is a thru-axle and not compatible with my 2016(?) Kickr. It was last altered to my wife, note the tape marking. (I’ll rejigger the dimensions to approximate the tri bike later.) This makes for an interesting past v present pic.

Yes, there are still two IM “bike inspected” stickers on the frame. A previous stem had a third. The bar-end shifters were originally pointed forward, but IM Austria in 2001(?) required them to point toward the rider so they wouldn’t, as they explained, impale someone else in a collision. And yes, there was, for two years, an Ironman California (full, not 70.3) and the “bike inspected” stickers for both were on my previous tri bike, a sweet Litespeed Tachyon with 650 wheels, which is no longer with me.

@djabby @jgoodban its awesome comfortable and stiff, descending with it is a drug, really stable at higher speed and it also climbs very well

You have my dream bike. The only thing I’d change is to put Red Etap on it. Such a beautiful beautiful bike.

Sadly, my only bike right now. Not so sadly, my wonderful Cervélo S2 with various drivetrain levels. Mostly ultegra with some 105 pieces but an FSA-Light Crankset with Rotor Q-Rings and a stages left arm crank.
Trying to save up for a CX rig I can also use for gravel.

I’ve wanted a warbird for the longest time. Got a smoking deal on an older model in like new condition.

It’s frankly glorious. Feels so good to ride and I love how it looks.
I’ve only tried etap on one very short ride - not really long enough to make a fair judgement - but I found the gear changes a little annoyingly slow

I love how it looks. So much better than the the black and ‘graphite’ version

Old steel beater from my college days. New 36cm bars, new chain, new 700x32 Bontrager tires, 70mm deep alloy rims. Once I get comfortable enough with the riding it in fixed I’ll take the front brake off.

All said it weighs in at 26lbs

Looks like an amazing bike, I’m jealous! Does the Optic live up to the hype thus far?
