TrainerRoad iPhone app calibration challenges with different power meter

Figured I would see if the TrainerRoad hive mind could help with this…

I paired a different power meter to the TR iPhone app (the most recent test flight version) and the power meter calibration isn’t working properly. It just stays as “Calibrating…” and never finishes. The calibration for the power meter works fine when doing so through the Giant Ride Link app on the same iPhone and always works when I calibrate on Garmin head unit before an outdoor ride.

I also tried forgetting re-pairing the power meter to the iPhone app. I’ve reinstalled the TrainerRoad app (the same test flight version and an earlier one) and the problem persists.

Any suggestions while I wait for a response from TrainerRoad support??

I’m sure we’ll get you a good response from TR Support, but as far as I know, we don’t have calibration firmware built in for every single power meter on the market, and I’m wondering if Giant’s are one of those.

Although it may be a little more annoying, using the Giant app might be the way to go here, at least for now.

I’ll do a little digging on my end to see if I can find any other info, but again, Support will likely get you a solid answer. :technologist:

Thanks! Yes, I got a response from TR Support and I just need to use the Giant app as this a known issue with the Giant PowerPro power meters. All good!
