Tour de France 2022 - Hot Takes / Predictions / Spoilers Allowed (once the. Tour starts)

Do you mean Sunweb?

They are now Team DSM.

Listening to the Peacock coverage… So while we wait for the finale today:

  1. Completely disagree with Bob’s take on the QS train. They did a marvelous job on stage three. Not the leadout guys fault that the sprinter lost the wheels.

  2. Anyone have insight to the problem mentioned with Campagnolo / Colnago bikes at UAE? Am aware of the Giro issue and wondering if this is just a continuation.

  3. More I see the EF Cannondales on TV, more I like the paint jobs!

Is WvA going to come down with an illness, current speculation he is not well?

Will all the sprinters all get over that last Cat4, depends how it is raced maybe.

WvA (if not ill), Ewen, or Sagan for me if a team hammers the last climb.

Jakobsen if a full bunch sprint.

Where are you seeing this speculation?

Yeah. Stupid autocorrect. Lol

On GCN+ commentry, has been back to the car 5 times, no mechanical, said he doesnt look right.
It was with 90km to go about 55 minutes ago if you have GCN and rewind the feed. Pure speculation though… maybe nothing in it at all.

Edit: Talking about it again saying he is looking better. Guess they are making up stuff to talk about. Lol.

Intermittent sprint

Welp…so much for Wout not feeling well.:rofl:

ETA - I don’t think Wout can hold this though.

Maybe he can hold it…once the bunch came together, they kinda just sat up. Thought they would have coordinated a better chase.

Gap is going out…27" w/ less than 5K to go.

Someone’s tired of getting 2nd.

Edit: and he takes the win!

Wout is on another level. Interesting to see that Vingegaard looked stronger than Roglic. Also looks like UAE was a little out of position. Ineos was positioned well, but Thomas couldn’t hang, although he may be close to as good as Roglic right now.

Potentially troubling for J-V that Rog was not present in the move when they laid down the power…the Fish Boy was there (as was Yates and Thomas), but Rog was missing.

Now, maybe he was just marking Pog and the plan was to let Vingegaard try and get some time, but interesting nonetheless.

Pog looked pretty unbothered by it all while cooling down.

Its a bit like Hi Vis some folk don’t notice that either :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Probably thought he was one of the Motos.

Where is MvDP? I understand that Philpsen is the designated sprinter but I would thought he would have at least tried to mark WvA today? One would assume he has the explosiveness to get over that climb with Wout and at least sit in the wheel? Alpecin has been a bit perplexing to me in general though.
