I too have a difference in my TT bike FTP vs my Road bike FTP. Given what Coach Chad and Nate mentioned all last year with the 40K TT project and what many of you mentioned above, does anyone know if TR has contemplated allowing users to have more than one FTP? It would be great to be able to have the software automatically adjust workouts based on the bike I select vs. me having to do math and figure out what % I need to increase or decrease a workout by.
Just adding my bit. I was 10% weaker on my TT bike. Then did all of my TR workouts on the TT bike in the aerobars for 6 months and then re-rested and the gap was 3%.
I now do most training on the TT bike.
Because it is just so comfortable, lounging on the aerobars and;
I figure when it really matters in a road race, you get down low in the drops, which would be a similiar hip angle as the TT bike, so it is a great position to become stronger in.
So just to confirm, if I have an FTP on bike A of X and on bike B of Y, I can leave my account FTP set to X while adjusting the workout intensity to Y/X for any workout done on bike B, then modify the bike B workout afterwards to FTP Y? This would be the same as adjusting my FTP to Y before loading the ride to be done on bike B, yes? Thanks.
For my situation, tri bike ftp 277, road bike ftp 254. So just leave account to 277, adjust road bike workout to 92% (254/277 = 91.7), modify workout later if desired to road bike FTP 254. I just want to make sure that my workout highs and lows will be appropriate when I throw my road bike on the trainer without having to monkey around with account settings beforehand, as it’s simpler to tweak ride intensity at ride time. Cheers!
