CyclingTips was already wholly owned by Pinkbike when the latter was bought by Outside Inc. And at that time, Pinkbike was also already majority owned by a VC firm.

Outside appear to have shut the Cyclingtips forum down completely. There is also a post from a couple of days ago indicating the entire CT site is moving across to a new platform… I hate to say it, but seems like the CT we knew and loved is now gone for good

forum has been down/offline/removed for a couple of weeks IIRC. definitely seems to be on purpose. I would not be surprised if the pinkbike product dude is tied into this ~transformation~

CT forum functioned on Monday when I checked and was nuked that day or the next couple. You can pinpoint it from the comments in the Wade topic, where we discussed it earlier this week.
