I wanted to do Maple Valley last year after IM Canada got canceled, but decided against it due to the lack of lodging close to the race venue—there was nothing less a 30-minute drive away. The new one has a hotel directly next to the finish line, at least. I’m not familiar with that part of Washington state so I don’t know what to expect from the course, but a chill river swim feels like a nice way to close out the season at least
