The Ironman Training 2021 Thread

On transitions?

Best of luck!

Ah yeah. I always forget about that. So maybe +20min

Still very very close to sub 9!

Hopefully fast enough for Kona!

This should definitely help too, if Kona is the goal:
The 2021 Certified Piedmontese IRONMAN North American Championship Tulsa will offer 150 qualifying slots to the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i.

Not going all out, but I’m in with the swim 34:36 which I’m happy with. Just going on the Rouvy Chattanooga course now - don’t know it but it looks hilly

Anyone else doing IMVR20?

Bike done, now I’m not so sure about the run…

The downside to posting for accountability - bailing on the run leg! :flushed:

10.5km 1h05, my form was going earlier about 6km I felt some cramp signals 8km, I started the second loop but my pace on the flat was poor. Either I made a sensible decision not to beat up my legs and risk next weeks training or I chickened out…a bit of both, but mostly the latter if I’m honest! :smirk:

Meh… Regardless the reason, there is no reason whatsoever to finish if you in the middle of a plan…

Great job!

It’s all rolling hills on the bike, but watch out for the bigger hill at 51km, and theres a couple after that I think.

Won’t be a problem for you though methinks. :+1:

I’m still thinking of doing Vichy for the ride.
More of a workout … for me

Just finished a ride from my airbnb. These roads are absolutely disgusting. Haven’t seen the course yet but some guys on Slowtwitch are saying the course is just as bad.

Cracks going across every 20ft or so and dips and bumps all over the place. Thank god I made the switch to Tubeless

Also got rained on right after putting the UFO chain on so meh

Done…
Good swim (for not having done much)
Tough bike (off my pace a bit) but almost 4000ft of climbing
Run was bit faster than planned … about 1000ft of climbing

I just love this distance…

.8 mile swim
42 miles ride
9 mile run

Depending on how i do on the swim i will then sign up for a half ironman next year!

Ryan is looking very good coming of the swim ahead of his goal time :+1:. Long day ahead though.

Tracker says Ryan’s made up 7 places on the bike so far and isnin a very comfortable place.

Pro race has had two athletes crash and three in the penalty box (!) so stay safe!

Was Cody Beals one of the pros that crashed?
