Thank you Dennis! I am ready for the launch ![]()
Latest from the UK is as follows: The new 2021 model is under embargo until 5pm on Tuesday. I can reveal the frameset price for 2021 is £3,750 and we will have 5 colour options.
Will update with any more info I can get when I speak to the bikeshop directly.
Thanks Neil. If you can get any info on when actual delivery of the bike is expected in the UK and how stock levels are looking, that would be helpful too.
Nothing concrete re delivery other than they think they will have initial stock for items ordered now but could be autumn after that. They wouldn’t commit to anything. The 5 colour-ways sound a bit mad - you definitely couldn’t make a decision based on the descriptions I got which I tried to scribble down…
- 50/50 dark grey with Zebra finish & dove grey around seat and chain stays
- Blue tint - brushed finish
- Yellow blaze oasis - orange/light blue/black
- Dusty blue pearl - metallic gloss purple
- Snake eye - gloss light lime green
The only other note was that the cost included the stem but not the bars. They couldn’t give me a cost on the bars yet.
The app seems to confirm the 12:00PM EDT time for the end of the embargo
Yes indeed. 12 pm in NY is 17:00 in the U.K. and 18:00 in the Netherands!
Thanks for the info, I just went to my lbs and saw three actual SL7 framesets and able to add some comments on the paint jobs:
- first one has exactly the same color way as the attached picture.
- the second one is very similar to the first one, but with black/white zebra finish around top of seat tube instead of salmon pink/black, and grey/black brush finish around seat/chain stay instead of blue/orange brush finish, “s-works” logo on down tube and “S” logo on head tube are white.
- the third one is just plain matt black with gloss black logos, but there’s hint of matt green/purple chameleon paint effect coated over the entire frame, so it appears greenish or purple-ish depending on outdoor lighting direction and condition. The chameleon effect is quite subtle thou, with indoor lighting its mostly just pure matt black.
Well I’m lucky I didn’t want to order an sworks frame.
OOOFFFTTTAAA!!! That’s a face only a mother could love.
I want it in pink.
I think this is another one of the colours Snake Eye. Pictured here on the 2021 S-WORKS CRUX FRAMESET. Come on guys, surely they can do better than this
UGH, looks like a black one again for me then
uugh over 10K for a bike that has a paint job of a cheap Chinese copy. No thanks. The red one shared on some of the publicity looks nice, but I imagine they will be like gold dust.
Hi guys,
As I said, the Tarmac SL7 is now available with augmented reality experience at Specialized Ride app.
Enjoy
The rear wheel isn’t well attached. No freehub or axle going to the drive side
Nothing super new in this article, but it might be of interest to some
Yikes. That’s bordering on embarrassing.
Go to all the bother of making one of the best bikes in the world, then treat it like a toddlers art project?!
One look at what can be done from the likes of Trek with their project one schemes shows that there really is no excuse for such terrible designs in this day and age. There’s the argument that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that everyone has different tastes, but seriously…that just looks plain wrong.
Just got an SL6 frameset myself that I’m having custom painted…will be worth it in the end!
Conspiracy Theory: When they realized Covid-19 would affect production they switched to all terrible paint schemes to lower demand while they worked out some sweet next year paint schemes. Or possibly they leaked a bunch of terrible schemes so people will be more surprised when the real ones hit.
I like the red/black
This color scheme is probably the best anti-theft camouflage ever. The frame looks (for me) so cheap thatI would suppose that somebody has put some s-works sticker as a joke.
