There is a difference between doing an unstructured ride that doesn’t associate with your planned workout and doing an unstructured ride that will auto-associate with your Group or Solo Ride.
Group/Solo rides have difficulty expectations (hard, endurance, easy, etc.), so it does make sense to ensure that you’ve scheduled the right type of ride for the effort you plan to do.
