Spin class at Atlantis resort

Anyone ever been?
On the website, they say they have spin class, I’m trying to decide whether I should bring an old pair of shoes with SPD cleats , whether the pedals are just cages or whether the bikes are such crap I shouldn’t bother doing the class??

I have not been to the Atlantis resort, but I’d try out the spin classes if I was going. Without any prior knowledge, I figure the spin bikes would be like those at most every big gym I’ve been to, heavy dumb spin bikes with a friction adjust knob and dual sided pedals that took either SPD or Look Delta cleats. Classes like these can be a little odd/wack, but I usually sit toward a rear corner and modify if needed. I’ve always enjoyed them and worked up a good sweat.

I would e-mail the concierge and ask them for some details…I have done that several times at different hotels I will be staying at and can usually get the info I need.

If you are going to bring your own pedals, I strongly recommend bringing a small bottle of penetrating oil with you and a pedal wrench. Chances are that whatever pedals are on their have a fair amount of corrosion at the spindles. I will put the oil on the pedlas the night before I plan on using a spin bike and then arrive early the next day to wrench them off.

Alternatively, if they are just toe clips and straps, just bring your cycling shoes and use the straps. It won’t make that big of a difference.
