Software bug not reading power?

This happening with anybody else?

Not sure what is happening. It claims to not have power data, except when you go into devices, it reports power?

It also reports cadence fine, which means it can read power since it’s the same source…

App version 2026.30.0..92777

Thanks.

It’s clearly reporting power though.

See the devices screenshot.

Thanks

I’ve had same issue (using my wahoo- have to restart app and it then connects)

Ah, I see what you’re saying. Sorry, I missed that.

Have you had success with this bike before (is this a new issue)?

According to Stages, you should connect to both the Stages Bike and the left-side power meter.

:backhand_index_pointing_down: Here’s the link to the article where I found that.

Hi Eddie -

This has been my setup for the past 4 years, nothing has changed on my end. I was able to get it going again by starting pedaling before I hit go after rebooting everything? But somehow I don’t think that’s a permanent fix.

Here’s another oddity that came up recently…that might or might not be related?

This was all done in ERG mode, with no breaks. I lowered it to get a recovery ride in.

It somehow spikes the resistance 8-10x within the hour.

Yeah, that certainly makes me lean closer toward the side of a hardware issue. :face_with_monocle:

Have you reached out to Stages?

Do you have another app running somewhere that is periodically grabbing the connection to the power meter? For example, I would look for TrainerRoad instances running on other devices or in another browser tab.

Have you tried completely reinstalling the app and clearing your cache?

Yes, this has been happening to me this week. Whenever I am actually able to get the app to recognize my pedals in-workout, the readings are pretty unstable. Today, I’ve been spending an hour trying to start my ride.

To be fair, it could be my FA Duo pedals. Their app is taking forever to connect to my pedals.

I figured it out today through process of elimination of my devices (FA MX Pro pedals, Kickr v5 + Climb, Garmin HRM-Pro Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro) that the HRM was the interfering device. I noticed that I wasn’t getting power nor HR in-workout (despite both devices showing live readings in the device list).

Removing and re-pairing the chest strap to my phone via GC fixed both devices’ ability to show live measurements in-workout.

Infrequently over the last few months, I noticed the chest strap showing as duplicate devices in my Bluetooth list. I tend to just leave it alone as it hasn’t been a showstopper until now.

Just reporting for another data point… but happened to me this week. I closed the app and when I restarted it was fine. Using an iPhone paired with a Kickr bike.

This happened to me Saturday too. Using my iPhone paired to a Tacx Neo 2. It recognized cadence but no power, I restarted the app and it was fine.

Please continue to share more data points because this bug is clearly device agnostic and should be brought to the attention of the devs. At minimum, a device that is showing live data in the device menu but not showing that same live data in-workout without bodging together some workaround is probably not the UX they’re going for.

This has happened to me on my last several rides as well coming from my sram red/quarq power.. restarting the app always fixes it. Been using this setup for nearly 2 years, battery is plenty fresh.

I think they said they had a fix for this that launched. I’ve been force closing and relaunching the app each workout which has worked as a stopgap.

I have had this too, along with FTP prediction issues TR has gone south.

happening to me as well. no changes in setup. devices recognizes PM and shows power but in workout, nothing. I manually shut down the app and restart and that seems to fix it.

It sounds like this clearly isn’t a device-specific issue.

I’m pulling info from you all and sending it to the team.

Could you let me know what version of the app you’re using (desktop, mobile, Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, etc.)?

Hang in there!
