Shimano's New Power Meters, 2nd Gen Dura-Ace R9200 and Ultegra R8100

The average powers next to the legends are worlds apart (317 W vs. 243 W vs. 383 W). That’s significantly different than 10 W. Or am I missing something?

Those are the instanteous powers for where my cursor is. The averages are displayed at the bottom of the chart horizontally.

Recording from today’s 3x20 workout. Again, the Shimano and Kickr are in nice agreement while the Rally pedals are low.

Have you been consistently in e. g. the small or big ring?

I still would not recommend Shimano power meters, both, @dcrainmaker and @gpl have tested and re-tested them. They cam to the same verdict every single time: stay away. (PS If it works for you, that’s cool, I hope it does. In fact, it better does, considering how expensive they are.)

Erg in the little ring (36t) in the middle of the cassette. I meant to switch to the big ring for the last interval but I forgot.

I’m only showing my data after the the firmware update to demonstrate that some units may be in spec. If I were buying again, I’d probably go with Quarq cranks with the rest of a DA setup.

I suppose I should reach out to Garmin about wtf is going on with my Rallys…anyone have experience with that?

Edit: per DCR review, I need to hit “Reset install angles” after I moved it to my road bike. Will see if that helps.

What about a pair of Assioma pedals and buy some time for the Shimano hot mess to be resolved (hoping it can be here)…

Favero solidly supports their pedals and they aren’t going to break the bank, and are a solid choice. :person_shrugging:

Sweetspot this morning. Little ring, erg mode. Second picture is zoomed in on the second interval. Storck = Shimano R9200P. Again, the Shimano and Wahoo line up really nicely while the Rally is unacceptably off. I did the reset all angles yesterday hoping it would help. It…didn’t.

I read about this before you posted and I was troubleshooting. Seems like a true pain? Have you done it? I’m not sure if I’d be able to get the bike perfectly horizontal and raised. Maybe using a workstand I could get close.

Another firmware update in the last week. Doesn’t mention anything about power meter accuracy.

I’ll do a few more dual records. I did take apart my cranks recently and haven’t re-tested since reassembly.
