This is the channel you are talking about right? They make reasonably decent content imo, it’s not perfect but I would not consider it to be illogical nonsense.
I used to work in the cycling/outdoor apparel industry and my understanding is that its a coating on the outside of the fabric (all fabrics have a coating, even Gore-tex) so it really does not touch bare skin except at the cuffs and neck. I could be wrong on this and yes, when saturated it could seep in but also the danger has to be more in hot conditions as well (which is bad for coatings). I’d keep using it until it stops shaking dry, wash it well and then coati it with Niwax.
It’s just that the one thing that I found amazing, and I majored in government in college decades ago, is the process that I saw happening with that communities contamination problem. The politicians belt over backward to protect the guilty party, which wasn’t so shocking. What was shocking is the flood of Astroturf that was laid to change public opinion, and battle the facts. Even local residents were employed as ‘human shields’, defending the polluter that was endangering their own lives, and families. (There were randos that showed up on the blogs and websites of people trying to fight the lies and distortion (they called it ‘sound science’) that sought to calm people in the area. These bots, likely, worked endlessly to spread nearly the same ‘sound science’ that ‘dioxin was your friend’ and not a problem. Sure. Dioxin was used to poison a Putin critic. Sure, it’s totally fine, not dangerous at all)
I acquired a heightened sense for BS and try to limit my diet of it. ‘Self-preservation’?
