TreadmillRoad is still just a twinkling in my eye, so what are people doing for running?
TR keeps me engaged with training cycling and gets me moving with the promise of getting faster
Ive always struggled with other disciplines and my run performance and consistency is weak. Where do people moan about their running training plans, not getting faster, etc?
I tried LetsRun a few years ago - âtraumaticâ would be the one word take away. Nike Run Club was a nice app, but didnât engage me like the podcast/app combo of TR. YouTube running channels are almost entirely irritating after a while.
You could look into Stryd device and membership. It has a critical power concept similar to FTP and training plans. I donât think it has any predicted power improvement feature.
But, I bought device several years ago and donât have a membership. At the time, I felt it was not great for beginner level runner because you can end up just shuffling along trying to do âeasyâ power level. However, I did enjoy more interval based workouts as a change from me just running on my own where I fall into more constant effort (usually too hard).
I think volume and not getting injured is the key with running. I find 1 interval session is enough to build pretty good run fitness if you are getting enough volume around that.
The fastest I have been has been when I have done the most volume.
