Rotor just announced a couple new wireless groupsets. One for road/gravel and the other for mountain bike.
The drop bar set is similar in price to SRAM Rival. It’ll be interesting to see some reviews once people get their hands on them…anyone wanna take one for the team and be an early adopter?
SRAM’s 10–46 cassette is very similar to Rotor’s when it comes to the hardest gears, but Rotor’s 13-speed cassette has more consistent jumps at the climb-y end. Their 10–39 cassette, which I think is something SRAM should add to its arsenal, has great gearing, take a SRAM 10–33 cassette and add a 39-tooth cog. (Although Rotor was clearly first, so they didn’t copy SRAM.)
It’s not the brand you once knew. The Chinese Wheeltop has taken over Rotor and is now using the name. This is essentially a Wheeltop GeX groupset with a different look and a higher price.
I was hoping the Spanish engineers had had some input here. Their cranks and chain rings are top notch in terms of quality. If that’s the case, that might change my next purchase decisions. (I was planning on getting a Rotor crank for my next bike.)
