I have a Ridley X-night (~2012) that sometimes doubles as a gravel bike. Anybody know if a 42mm tire will fit with decent clearance?
I’d be shocked if a 42 would fit…not only are you dealing with a CX specific frame, it is from a company that takes CX very seriously and from a time that pre-dates the current move towards wider tires.

Completely agree. 36mm would be my bet on the limit, depending on the tires too.
