I thought it was a bit tacky but can see why they do it. The race is called “Jailbreak” in an area of Texas with the states oldest prison system and the states execution chamber.
Would have been more pumped if the photographer adjusted his shutter speed than put out a prop

Nothing super rad or sick, bro, but a friend’s wife is out of town for work and my wife had a work-related thing, so he and I got the toddlers, ate some pizza, and rode around the neighborhood with a stop at the playground. Good fun!
Some shots from Ironman 70.3 Jones Beach. My relay team actually snagged second place. I ended up being second fastest relay cyclist, then runner was 3rd or 4th relay runner, and the swimmer (which I had to find a replacement the day before the race) was around 43rd. I was very shocked by doing as well as we did, especially with how bad I fell apart on the second half. Definitely will be putting in lots more time on my TT bike if/when I do another IM relay team.
Nice job! And that’s awesome you were able to find a replacement for the swim leg on such short notice.
and your bike skills are vastly above the average ironman.
I was doing everything I could to find someone, and got lucky someone saw my SOS post on the Ironman event page and reached out. Crazily enough, after I said yes, I had 4 more reach out and say they would love to do it.
