Good quality photos there. Nicely colour co-ordinated kit too.

From the Loudon Gravel Grinder a few weeks ago. I did the 80m and biked the 50 mi to the course and back. Was a big day. Should have taken a dunk like the other guy.

Damn! This is a local race / event to me but I don’t own a gravel bike (yet - still working on the wife). Looks like a great event, and congrats on keeping the rubber side DOWN.

From the Highlands Gravel Classic in Arkansas last weekend.

what did you think of the course? Mile for mile, it was one of the hardest gravel races I’ve done :face_exhaling:

From my midweek XC race a couple days ago, Solder Hollow, UT:

Agree, very tough. I didn’t have the gearing for those steep loose climbs (40x42) and didn’t have enough life insurance for those super sketchy descents!

no kidding. my friend who rode up with me from Austin, and was doing the women’s Farmlands crashed heavily on a descent around mile 17. No fractures, but hard hit to left shoulder and ribs, left side of head/temple and a pretty bad concussion. had to go to hospital after the race to pick her up. she’s doing better now, but no memory of ~10am to 4 pm, and we kept having the same conversations/questions over and over on the 10 hour drive home. Was like being with an Alzheimer’s patient. I was pretty stoked to ride that whole section from 52-53 miles without dismounting, but that was my only accomplishment of the day. missed worlds by 3 spots in the 55-59 category

Hope she recovers quickly. The photo is the woman who won 55-59. I drove over from Alabama by myself so definitely wasn’t taking any chances on the descents.

From the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder
5 day stage race over the highest Cascade Mountain Range…twice.
350 miles 35,000ft of elevation. Most routes are Point to Point and have sections of the actual wagon trails from the Oregon Trail. Remote and beautiful, and a test of determination and will.
Was hands down the hardest thing ive ever done. Was a 28 hour week for me. Set multiple Power PRs and gained a lot of emotional dexterity. I highly recommend this series…for 1200$ they move and setup all your stuff before you arive and they feed you…alot…and its quality food.

I rode this in 2021 and had the same experience. Just incredible! And well done dude, seeing the finish line is one hell of an accomplishment.
