Good luck with the aqi. My group is headed up tomorrow so I hope it will clear so everyone can have a great weekend.
Without a doubt the hardest 103 miles I’ve ever ridden. I had a mechanical on Day 1, so I have unfinished business when it comes to the QSR. I’ll be back to take care of that next year.
Nearly all of my ride was high Zone 1 (I didn’t adjust my FTP in my head unit, so likely most in Z2 if I had done so) It was HOT.
and according to Garmin I was running on fumes…
We really did dodge a bullet on Air Quality. My wife and I left Ketchum yesterday (Tuesday Sept. 6th) and there was a fine coat of ash on our car. If the race had been one day later it would have been canceled for AQI. Here’s a shot from during the race…
Rebecca is magic with the air quality on the big race day. It didn’t seem as hot as previous years I’ve ridden but temp wise, it was quite warm. My group had planned to stay Monday night but when we saw the gross air, we went back to Utah for some clearer riding.
I’m about to jump on signing up for the 2023 QSR. If any of you camped, what’s the camping situation like? I’m hoping to reserve a spot but also wonder if y’all just camped in a dispersed campground.
There were plenty of riders camped. Wildfires a couple valleys over made it tough though.
