Pregnant and following a plan

Thanks so much for sharing! I’ve recently stopped nursing my second son after about 1.5 years, and I finally got my period back. For the first time in about four years, I’m hoping to have a consistent cycle, and my goal is to adapt my training to it—while also being a mum to two energetic young boys!

At the moment, I’m taking magnesium, omega-3, iron, vitamin-D and creatine. Still, I don’t quite feel like I’m in the shape I’d like to be in. My FTP is about 15 watts below my target, and I’m wondering if I need to accept that this might just be my current limit. I’m training about 10 hours a week, so I don’t think volume is the issue—it’s probably more about making room for recovery.

I’ve been considering cutting back on training hours to focus more on quality (I’m currently riding indoors twice a week and mixing in XC skiing, strength training, and outdoor rides). However, for me, it’s also about the mental side—getting out every day for fresh air and those endorphins, especially when sleep is disrupted.
