I gave up on the power match by my Turbo. It was too much of a lag behind the ant + pedal power meter (Be Pro S) when I was spinning high cadence.
Did you change the sensitivity in the advanced settings at all?
The new powermatch function is working well. i am on Kickrsnap and the old powermatch function seen to have a very big delay in getting powder to match and sometimes it is too sensitive, resulting in resistance changes all the time when on erg mode. Before the new powermatch function i tend use resistance mode more. The new powermatch function is now very smooth and maintain the resistance in erg mode way better. With the new power match function i can see myself using the erg mode more.
It doesn’t matter which app you use to calibrate your PM. The calibration settings are stored in the PM itself. So you can use the calibrated PM afterwards in any app
So the app production version is going live this week?
Hmm… I’m not doing quite so well, ticket submitted.
Except for SRM
Mac and windows beta have it, and that will go to the main feed soon.
Totally new iOS app is close, I believe there are like 40 issues left that we’re fixing. It’s all fully built and we’re just squashing bugs. I ride it all the time.
I don’t have a timeline though as one bug can take awhile, or we could fix 10 in a day.
The Internal goal is to get it out before the winter training ramps up.
When will the new android version be released?
Looking forward to it!!
Tried the new PowerMatch yesterday… with my SRM PowerMeter (calibrated in Devices & with SRM PC8 headunit… like always) via Ant+ and Kickr also via Ant+ (spin down calibration before hand, like always) …first 8-min of the warm-up held me at 15w above target. 176 vs 161. Switched back to Legacy for the remainder of the warm-up (162 vs 161), and then completed the workout without issue. It was a 300tss / 5hr15min workout, so I didn’t want to take chances haha.

there was also a large surge of resistance up to 200w around the time of the switch from new to legacy… I’ve never had bad experiences w/ powermatch before yesterday.
As soon as our new mobile app launches. It’s pretty close. Internal goal is before the indoor season really takes off.
Can you link the ride, please? @alhan
Fantastic, thanks Nate.
Will look into this!
Thanks for sharing this workout and I understand your frustration. This is exactly the type of issue that we set out to solve.
We’ve had a chance to review the ride and were unable to find any logging that is specific to New PowerMatch (or Legacy for that matter). That is a challenge we are having with diagnosing the issue. We will be looking into why logging was not working properly in this case.
When inspecting the way that PowerMatch behaved (how the offset was being corrected), it looked a lot like how Legacy PowerMatch behaves. Is there any chance that this was done on Legacy, by accident? If not, then this is very strange and I will follow-up directly with you to get to the bottom of the issue.

Silly question, from a non-programmer, but is there any chance you can send and capture the TR app version info into the ride file, so you will always know exactly which app and version is in use?

Presumably, if you add it for the current apps, and don’t bother with the legacy app, you will at least have a “non” or something to identify the old stuff, along with the precise info from new apps.
Hi Kellen, thanks for taking the time to send this and describe your experience. I don’t blame you for wanting to have a good experience for a 5h15 ride!
This is a good example of why sample size is so important when testing. We didn’t come across anyone on this exact setup (SRM+Kickr) and that might be part of what caused this. We have a static threshold for how much to correct the offset by in one fell swoop and, in this case, the offset was moving above and below that threshold. When it moved above that threshold, we weren’t correcting quickly enough and so you experienced the poor power matching behavior. We’ve only seen offsets this large when testing on rollers with power.
Next: we will need to refine this aspect of the feature. Again, thank you for submitting this and we will be in touch via DM when it makes sense to give new Power Match another go.
